I purchased this product for my daughter who suffers from an inflammatory autoimmune disease. Research shows blueberry has anti-inflammatory effects. I contacted the manufacturing company and requested information on the difference between extract and powder. Specifically, I requested to know what is "extracted" and how the fruit is processed. I also asked if the blueberries were low bush (wild) or high bush. Nobody was able to give a straight answer to any of my questions. Finally, color and flavor. Blueberry powder is purple, sweet and actually taste like blueberries. This particular supplement is pink and does not taste like blueberries at all. The fact that I was unable to get straight answers to my questions made doubt about the quality of this product. I decided to spend more money in actual wild blueberry POWDER. Read more
So, I've gotten this a few times now. I can't say anything was measurably wrong with it - that is, I didn't get poisoned or anything. BUT:1. The first time it was dense and bright pink.2. The second time it was looser and darker, and looked/tasted IDENTICAL to the "bilberry powder" I'd gotten.3. I got another batch. Now, it's very dark and has a strange chemical smell. I probably should have returned it after opening.I may be moving away from these people. I know just about any supplement is ultimately sourced from China, yadda yadda, but there really shouldn't be a variation between a bright pink tangy "blueberry powder" and a very dark chemically-smelling "blueberry powder." Also, blueberry powder should not smell like chemicals. Read more
I've never purchased berry extract powder before. I saw this brand on a Keto video and decided to give it a try in flavoring keto no bake cheesecake. I received the powder yesterday. Was excited to try something new. Tasted the powder and it was utterly flavorless. Had my wife try it to ensure it wasn't just me and she concurred. Went back on Amazon and took another look at the reviews on this product. There were several that complained about receiving inconsistent powder. I contacted Amazon to return the powder. I then purchased two other brands.1. Organic Wild blueberry Powder from Loov.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CWH3J4K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=12. Wild blueberry Powder from My Berry Organics.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KJN2GRK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Received both powders same day. Both taste like blueberries. If you can't supply bulk products consistently you shouldn't be selling. Read more
I had bought blueberry extract from Bulk Supplement before. The previous batch was definitely blueberry extract - sweet, aromatic, and slightly acidic just like real blueberry. However, this new batch had a strong chemical taste that was nothing like blueberry. I love blueberries and can recognize the taste in anything. I don't know if if was a bad batch; however, I am left wondering about quality control at Bulk Supplements. I returned the package with almost all of the powder inside (it's definitely not blueberry extract) for a full refund (thanks Amazon!). Read more
I started adding bulk supplements to my diet recently. My father passed away in his mid fifties. My grandfather, and his father, passed away in their mid fifties too, so I sort of expected the same. All from heart attacks...so it was a concern. I had read some interesting articles on improving heart health by increased consumption of berries and decided to give it a try.I blend fresh 1/4 cup each blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and rasberries and about 20 red grapes with 1 cleaned stalk of celery and raw purple cabbage, 10 grams of Bulk Supplements White Mulberry, 20 grams of Bulk Supplements Blueberry Extract, 20 grams of Beet Elite and 20 grams of Bulk Supplements Beet Extract and a scoop of Green Superfoods with about 5 oz of carrot juice and a bunch of ice. I take this 30-35 minutes before my daily run when I can, or immediately after. It seems to work best before - if I can give it the 30 minutes before starting. I had tried beet juice before, and got good results, tried beet elite before, got good results...but this concoction is delicious, and seems to work really well.If just 20% of the articles are true, then my next check-up I'm hoping for under 150 serum cholesterol total (I'm at 180 now) stable blood pressure (been borderline high) and lower blood sugar (borderline high, but not diabetic)..we'll see. I'm at the 60 marker, so I've already passed 3 generations in longevity, hoping to set a new standard.Bulk supplements are good powder form, and for the amount I take, quite economical. Grocery store Blueberries, Blackberries, and Rasberries are a bit pricey, and this increases berry consumption with a lot less $.The packaging is in foil sealing bags that tend to be difficult, a bit tricky, but I throw the foil bag inside a Gallon Ziploc bag with a slidelock and made it easy for me. So, even when the foil lock doesn't stay engaged. the ziploc keeps it fresh. Read more
What has happened to this product? I bought this in the spring and it was a rich magenta color. I bought it recently and it was pink. I know natural things can vary, but blueberries are always going to be dark unless you dilute it and dilute it and dilute it. There cannot be any medicinal value to this at all. I will be looking for a better product. Like many others, I want this for my eyes. I will pay what it takes to help keep my vision. There is no cost savings to this product. Sacrifice my eyes to save my wallet? No thanks! Read more
