Our son is 41 now. When he was 3 we purchased many Brio pieces bc he so loved to play with the tracks, bridges, people, etc. Now he has twin boys who just turned 3. My 2.5 year old grandson LOVES this train! (His grandmother also enjoyed playing with it!) Very sturdy and as part of the Brio collection - can be added to other sets to make as big a set as you want. Such an awesome set! Little man loves the “hot fire” flames that were in the set.No broken pieces yet, and he plays pretty rough with them sometimes.I did glue his firemen with ES6000 tho, they come apart like lego men and I didn’t want him eating pieces. Read more
We have several Brio sets, but this one was a disappointment. The ladder on the firetruck keeps coming off. It's not really broken, I can put it back where it goes with some effort, but every two minutes my kids bring it to me so that I can put the ladder back on. And I'm sure the ladder will get lost in no time. For how expensive the set is, I would have expected something better built. Read more
This was a gift to a two-year-old who had just become a brother to a baby girl. He already owned and loved quite a large Brio layout and this fire-fighting set added a new dimension. All the pieces are well-made, smooth, colourful and sturdy. Set up by itself, when he first received it, it offered plenty of play experience, encouraging motor skills and story play.
