I’m giving these 2 stars because, they do work (for me, a bit less noise cancellation than foam plugs) however, I gave myself an ear infection with one of them that I then had to get a dr visit and prescription antibiotics for lol.Basically what I believe happened is, I was laying down crying one night and had the ear plugs in, since they’re just made of wax you can sometimes feel them come a bit loose for a moment. I felt tears going down my face and my ear was a little wet after, I think a couple tears went in my ear past the plug and then got trapped in there.. and water in ears without oxygen causes bad bacteria to grow (like swimmers ear!).Anyway after this happened, I woke up the next day and I kept smelling a putrid fishy smell lol. I realized eventually it was coming from my ear. I took the plug out and my ear was so wet and smelly inside lol I am so sorry if this is graphic to anyone. I did have some ear discomfort along with the smell so I got an oral and an ear drop antibiotic for it the same day and have been doing fine.I’ll just say.. this has never happened when I’ve used foam plugs even if I’ve used them in the shower or cried with them in and got tears in my ears. Maybe the foam ones can breath a bit?Anyway having said that, yes it was probably my own fault but I’d definitely caution against using these in any kind of wet setting so like rain or showers or swimming... or crying LOL. Idk personally I’m scared to use them again and now I have 2 and a half packs left that I probably will never touch again. Read more

I have extremely loud neighbors above my condo. I've tried everything on the market including custom made plugs. They all hurt my ears terribly or caused earaches. Once you figure out how to best mold them in your ear they are the best earplugs ever. They are soft and pain free. For me, if fitted properly they drown out about 90% of loud low tone/bass noise. The only problem I had when I first started using these years ago is that they would get too warm and slip out of one ear in the middle of the night. I've got them right now and that doesn't happen anymore. Read more

I’ve used this brand for 20 years! Tried many others, none worked as well or were as comfortable for me. I never travel without them (not that anyone travels anymore...). My husband snores, but not badly enough for apnea surgery or separate bedrooms. This is the best solution for marital bliss. Another plus... if one does happen to come out during the night (rarely), my dog won’t eat it, so vet bills are not a concern ;) . Read more

My wife snores and wakes me up at night to the point that I have to sleep in another room. But that doesn't bode too well for relationships. Thus, I've been trying all types earplugs. I even went to an audiologist to get custom made earplugs. I don't recommend the custom made if you're using it for sleeping b/c the earplugs will hurt your ears when you sleep on your side. If it's for blocking noises when you're working, then it's ok to pay the extra money (but in 20/20 hindsight and now knowing the Quies, I wouldn't pay the extra money). I've tried various earplugs (from foam, to wax, to silicone) and all of them hurt my ears that during the middle of the night I have to take them off. Recently Amazon had a deal on the Boules Quies earplugs, and even though it was a little more expensive, I bought them to try out. Needless to say, money well spent and I will never go back to any other types of earplugs. These Quies earplugs conform to your ear canals b/c they're made out of soft wax (I've tried other waxed earplugs and they don't conform as well as these Quies). When I took them out in the morning, I noticed the shapes were the same as my custom earplugs. I guess b/c they melt and conform to the ear canals, they're not as uncomfortable as other earplugs and adjust when you toss and turn at night. All earplugs, in my opinion, are uncomfortable. I would not use them if I don't have to. However, these Quies earplugs are the least uncomfortable that I can tolerate them for the night and get some decent sleep with my snoring spouse. Thus, if you have a snoring spouse/partner, I highly recommend these Quies. Your money will be well spent. (Just wait for the next deal from Amazon and stock them up). Read more

I need to wear ear plugs to sleep and my ears were getting itchy from foam earplugs. These are great! Highly moldable and they don't bother my ears at all, and they block noise including my husband's loud snoring and it's been a couple of months since I started using them. Each pair lasts about a week. Read more

These are way more comfortable than the foam earplugs I've used in the past, and work a whole lot better at cutting out pesky noises. Foam earplugs have the tendency of leaving my ears feeling bruised, but that's not the case with these. The Quies are very comfortable and work fantastically.I have worn these to successfully get some sleep on planes, and in noisy hotels where there was exceptionally loud traffic (honking, yelling, etc) right outside my room at all hours. I've also used them to sleep while my neighbors were busy partying up a storm. On two occasions while wearing these I completely slept through my alarm clock going off because I never heard it!The instructions say they're for single use, but I reuse each set 2-3 times before throwing them out. They don't leave my ears gunked up, and are easy to put in and take out. They do start losing their staying power and sometimes one will fall out the second or third time I use a pair. These are more expensive than foam earplugs, but worth every penny for the comfort and effectiveness.
