You must understand that I find the constant emails to review products from Amazon a pain in the neck. Furthermore, I usually just delete them and do not review many products. I am a very analytical consumer with very high standards of excellence. I read and study before I purchase anything. OK now the review... This is my favorite sunscreen for me and my young grandkids. Although it is rated 50, I'll take this stuff over any of the sprays that are rated higher. The best sunscreens are the mineral sunscreens like this one... Not the chemical sprays that are more hazardous to your health. This one is a thick white cream. It takes a while to rub it in and even then, the kids' skin will be a tad white. However, we like it that way as an indicator that they have protection on. My 6 year old granddaughter is blond haired, blue eyed, and very fair skinned. She burns easily. However, this stuff kept her (and her siblings... And me) protected all week long on vacation in sun, heat, tubing on the boat, swimming in the lake, and in the pool. It's good stuff. Excellent protection. It's a bit hard to wash off later in the shower but so what? It does a great job protecting skin. Read more

My daughter had a horrible reaction to a chemical based sunscreen. She had hives for two days and her skin looked like she had sun poisoning the day after she used it. It took us a couple of days to realize she was allergic to it. I have seen commercials for this on PBS. My pediatrician also recommended this one....she said she used it on her daughters when they were little. I just read an article this week about the FDA researching chemical based sunscreens and how unsafe they are. The article even said that chemical sunscreens can cause harm to pregnant women and their babies. So scary!! No more chemical sunscreens for our family! I will only be using mineral based from now on for all of us. THIS IS A WONDERFUL PRODUCT!!! I WILL DEFINITELY BUY AGAIN!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE, ESPECIALLY IF YOUR CHILD HAS SENSITIVE SKIN!!! LOVE IT!!! Read more

My son is 13 months old and has very bad excema/psoriasis all over. I tried the aveeno baby sunblock for sensitive skin but it made him flare up. So I got this based on the reviews and so far so good! No flare ups especially to his sweet face! Very pleased! Read more

It's a mineral sunscreen that doesn't have any chemical sun blockers, parabens, or fragrances. Its sensitive enough to use on my 4 month old. Compared to Babyganics (which is on recall for causing seizures) and Aveeno (super thick) Its very easy to spread and the bottle turns pink when exposed to UV rays. If I open the diaper bag and see it sitting in there all pink, I am reminded to reapply. This feature really solidified this as an excellent product for me. New Parents - Do not be fooled by the "chemical sun blockers" You actually wanna avoid any chemicals when it comes to infants & toddlers. A little bit goes a long way Read more

I have periocoular eczema, rosacea, sensitive, dry skin, and this sunscreen is my holy grail. I do have a fair complexion and this leaves a bit of a white cast after application, but if you take the time to rub it in it's not super noticeable. I don't know what exactly is in this that my skin loves, but it adores it. I've had no rosacea breakout or eczema flares with this unlike other "for sensitive skin" sunscreens I've tried. Layers well over Avenoo Oat Gel moisturizer (after I let the moisturizer dry) and under my tinted moisturizer I use for makeup (after I let the Blue Lizard sit for a few minutes). Read more

My son has sever eczema and he burns very easily. This is the only sunscreen we have ever used that does not burn his eczema. It rubs in so easily compared to any other zinc/white sunscreen we have EVER used. This product has definitely been a lifesaver. He does not burn at all when wearing this compared to Neutrogena and other top brands. We recommend this now to everyone! Even if you don't have eczema or sensitive skin this stuff is awesome. I love how the bottle turns colors to let you know you need to be wearing sunscreen. You won't regret buying this. Worth every penny! Read more

I've used mainly "Aveeno Baby Continuous Protection" and "Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Mineral Sunscreen Stick" on my baby boy before. But they were so hard to spread and blend! At first, I thought that's just the nature of using mineral sunscreens, but I as an adult have also used plenty of different brands of mineral sunscreens before and know that there are better formulations out there! I just wasn't sure if they had them for baby sunscreen. After looking around on Amazon, I've decided to give this and "Babo Botanicals Baby Skin Mineral Sunscreen Lotion" a try. Definitely pleasantly surprised by both of these sunscreens! However, I'm actually more impressed by the Babo Botanicals one. It's even easier to spread than the Blue Lizard and definitely much much better than the Aveeno and Neutrogena! But this Blue Lizard definitely takes the silver medal in my books! It's very easy to spread and leaves a minimal white cast. But given that it IS after all a MINERAL sunscreen, there will be a white cast no matter what, that's just the nature of the beast! But with this sunscreen, it's truly minimal and it doesn't bother me at all. Seeing that minimal white cast on my baby gives me reassurance that his skin is protected from the sun, without making him look ridiculously ghostly. Of all the baby sunscreens I've tried so far, this one is my second favorite just below that Babo Botanicals one. So what I've decided is to use the Babo on my son's face and the Blue Lizard on his body! Read more
