I didn’t realize these Charcoal blotting linens were scented before I purchased them; had I known this, I wouldn’t have purchased them because I didn’t want anything with scents. The scent is honestly pleasant smelling, I just don’t know why blotting linen would need them. They work really well, just one blot and the oil is gone, no shine either. They give my skin a kind of “purifying feeling”. I think it is the charcoal absorbing the oils from my skin. I highly recommend these for anyone (male or female), they don’t leave any powdery residue on skin, they just leave skin oil/shine free, detoxed, with a pleasant scent. In my 60s and still have oily skin--it drives me nutty! I tried blotting paper many years ago and wan't impressed. I ordered these blotting papers to round out my Subscribe and Save order and tried them today when I was looking pretty shiny. I used 6 or 7 of them to eliminate oil on every greasy square inch of my face and it worked! Not only did my face look oil-free, it felt oil-free to the touch! So, wow! I love these! Before I tried these, I have always used the Clean & Clear blotters which aren’t paper or linen, they are a plastic sheet. These are actual linen, which is so much softer and feels much more like quality. The package is also well made. Nothing feels cheap, the box is sturdy (not thin, cheap paper) and the actual linens are thick, nicely sized, and leave skin oil/shine free without any residue left behind. I highly recommend these! $10 for 100 sheets is kind of a lot but the good news is you only need one a day to really be effective. I am oily whether I wear makeup or not and the best thing about these sheets is that the makeup remains mostly undisturbed. I barely lay the sheet on top of my skin and come away with more oil than I think is there. I'd post a pic but I think everyone gets the point of blotting sheets. I have pretty oily skin - by around 2pm my face is shiny and I always felt like I needed to wash my face and reapply makeup if I was going to see anyone after work. A month or two ago I bought these to try and I absolutely LOVE them. I usually use 2 or 3 squares sometime in the afternoon, and sometimes I’ll even use them again in the evening if I’m going to be out late. I am so so happy with the results - all my shine is gone after I use them and in my opinion it looks like I just reapplied my makeup. I’m so pleased I found these and so disappointed I didn’t try them earlier!I noticed some reviewers don’t like the scent, but I honestly didn’t even notice there was a scent until I read the reviews. I was a little skeptical, but I really like these and am purchasing again. They are a bit delicate but I like that the sheet is large and I can use one half of each sheet for a day's duration (i.e., two blotting sessions). I think they're worth the price because they seem much more likely to be biodegradable compared to the blue Clean and Clear ones or similar products. Read more

I bought this brand from Sephora once and don't remember a scent then. The box says the papers are just made of charcoal and bamboo fiber, neither of which would have a floral, detergent-y scent. Must be a knock off. Does the job, so long as you don't mind pressing unknown chemicals into your face. Read more

i followed the positive reviews and said I would try them! These exceeded all my expectations. Sure its a few dollars more than the average blotting papers...but if you want average this isn't it.
