I have very bad dry mouth at night, and was skeptical as to whether this would help, but it has helped greatly. I've found that, even if I get up in the middle of the night--several hours later--I don't have to re-apply it. I would say it lasts 4-6 hours, which is pretty good. I have chronic dry mouth due to diabetes, anti-depressants, and various medications for other chronic illnesses. This makes life (especially sleep) bearable. I take a drink of water before bed, then put a dab (less than the size of a dime) in my mouth, and it keeps my mouth moisturized for a few hours. The taste was just a tad bit odd at first, but now I don't notice it. It's sort of sweet-ish, but sort of neutral in flavor, if that helps. Ha! 4-hour relief???? Noooo WAY! I have a dry mouth problem because I’m wearing invisaline braces, so First, it has an unpleasant tang to it that the biotene spray doesn’t have, and 2nd, the positive effects don’t even last a few minutes! The spray doesn’t last long, but at least it stays with you longer than this stuff. I take medication that makes my mouth dry. I had an ingredient list for the previous formula so I could compare the new and old. The old formula was very helpful especially at bedtime. The new formula stings my mouth. The moisturizing effect lasts about five minutes. I cannot imagine why the company changed the ingredients--except to cheapen their costs and make a larger profit. My mouth was so incredibly dry (from medications) that it was burning. I bought this because it promised to be unflavored (which it is). My problem with it is that it feels kind of slimy. But it does work. I've had to reapply it after about 3 hours, but that's not a big deal to me. I would have preferred a spray, but they are all mint flavored...and I don't like that. So if you've got extreme dry mouth, and can't take the taste of mint, this may be your best bet. Read more

Works great. Use this along with a Hydrating Oral Rinse and toothpaste (I prefer Colgate Hydris, but Biotene mouthwash and toothpaste are good as well) and it helps with my dry mouth caused by meds. Read more
