For a lot of years I've always used BenGay and it wasn't really solving any problems I had with my muscles and joints. My profession with HR and I was responsible for making sure our first aid kits were filled properly and the orders were in and the rep there asked me to try the Biofreeze and I did. It is The best! I love the smell so much better than BenGay and I love the way it works I suffer from psoriatic arthritis, CR PS, and I've had to complete TKRs ( total knee replacement ) I also suffer with asthma and allergies and I get a lot of headaches because of them. I am in unbearable chronic spinal and joint pain and this is a lifesaver. It's great for nerve pain which is hard to get past to function and this helps greatly. I go through a lot of it and wish it cost less. I use it with medication and it helps me to fall asleep, walk, and get through the day and night. I 100% recommend Biofreeze. The spray is good for spraying neck and back. The gel I don't like so much unless it's the professional kind I can only get through my physical therapist. I wish I could buy that stronger one. These “cool sensation” products trick your pain nerves and will work for several hours. This is not a medicine, it’s has nifty pain redirection properties. I only buy the aerosol version to reach anywhere (especially behind) and you don’t get your hands all smelly and waste product. I have tried the roll on’s and sponge versions and I don’t like them at all (application reach and the sponge kept falling off). I called the manufacturer and they said I must have bought older ones out of date. How am I to know...? My point is, these spray ones are perfect. Honestly, based on the reviews, I expected this product to be a lot more effective for my back pain. The current reviews pretty much state that this product is excellent and works immediately...However, after using Blue Emu spray prior to this (and trying it for the price and race reviews) I can't give this product 5 stars. It isn't a bad product, but it smells exactly like "Icy Hot," and even though it mentions that the smell fades -- it doesn't. If it does it lingers for AWHILE.I gave this three stars mainly because the 360 option for spray is pretty cool. You don't have to curl into a pretzel to rub it in, or get the liquid in the right spot. It works, but it seems to vary on the intensity of your actual pain and the amount that you spray onto your back, legs, or wherever.I can't say that it's an uncomfortable feeling after applyimg, but it's definitely a noticeable sensation that I really wouldn't spray on before I went anywhere or attempted to do daily activities. That and the intense smell.I really feel like this is more suited to athletes, or something of the sort who need "relief" after a long marathon, or heavy lifting. This is not really for me, but I don't exactly dislike it. I feel there are comparable products for dollars more that don't wreak, work much faster, and don't give the user a mix between "Do I like this?"
