I’m the kind of lactose intolerant person who can’t drink lactaid milk without a reaction. These pills work. There is, however, an art to taking the right quantity at the right intervals. My rule is roughly 1 pill per slice of cheese or tablespoon of heavy cream / ice cream. I also go by feel. You might be more or less sensitive than me, but you can get to know and trust your gut and figure out what works for you.I’ve been on dairy pills for 10 years and they have changed my life. I didn’t realize how bad I felt 100% of the time 24 hrs after I got the first few meals right. It was life changing for me and everyone around me.2 caveats:1. Anecdotally, it seems that those who fully control their lactose intolerance with pills become more sensitive over time. (I’m a prime example… but it’s a trade I’m willing to make!)2. I switched to this brand a few months ago and I really appreciate the reduction in packaging vs. the tear open singles. It’s MUCH smaller and more eco-friendly / sustainable. Read more

When Lactaid stopped working for me the search began for another supplement that would allow me to enjoy dairy products, especially ice cream. I use other Best Naturals brand products so I decided to give their Lactase Enzyme supplement a try.Best Naturals Lactase Enzyme tablets each contain 9,000 FCC ALU. What this means is that you only need to take one tablet at a time compared to the three tablets of Lactaid that you have to take at once. If one tablet isn't strong enough you can take 2 at a time. The inactive ingredients for the Best Naturals brand are: Dicalcium Phosphate; Microcrystalline Cellulose; Croscarmellose Sodium; Stearic Acid; Magnesium Stearate; and Silica.Knowing how bad of a stomach ache I get after eating dairy products, I decided to take 2 tablets of the Best Naturals Lactase Enzyme supplement. Swallowing the tablets was easy and at first there was no off putting taste. Then I started eating ice cream and immediately it tasted like soap.I had eaten the same ice cream the day before with Lactaid so I know that it doesn't taste like soap. The aftertaste was from the Best Naturals Lactase Enzyme supplement. I took it on two other occasions, with chocolate ice cream and with chocolate milk. Both times what I was consuming tasted soapy. The Best Naturals Lactase Enzyme supplement has a strong soapy aftertaste when you begin consuming dairy. I have not experienced this with other Lactase Enzyme supplements. I am not sure what makes this supplement taste soapy, but I will not be purchasing it again in the future. Read more

These lactase pills work great, though I have to take a bunch at once. However, I learned a great trick that helps making taking pills *so much easier*: before you try to swallow the pills, first drink some water. It's super simple, but it actually works. When you drink some water beforehand, it hydrates your throat, and the pills are less likely to stick to your throat. I couldn't believe it when I started doing this, just how effective it is. The only time I have trouble with pills now is when I forget to pre-hydrate my throat. Try it. Read more

Hard to review something based on the lack of symptoms after taking it, but here we go.It works.Really, what else do you need to know? Before a serving of ice cream, cheese, cake, or yogurt, I chew up one of these, and I don't get the awful lactose-intolerance symptoms (mine last a full 24 hrs, very noticeable). The pill is chalky without any flavor, so I usually crunch them with the first bite of food to take the taste away.I don't think they work as well after 30 minutes, as once I left my latte half drunk and had to finish it cold. There was some mild discomfort. So be warned. Just eat another pill. Read more

I have had serious lactose problems for most of my life and have used quite a few products. Happy with this one. Caplet form so can split if you need a smaller dose. High strength at the lower end of price spectrum for lactase. Works for a normal time period during a meal. For me they are easy to swallow and don’t find strange aftertaste on taking, so don’t understand those reviews. Long 2 yr expiration date on the ones I purchased so far so you can stock up with these skyrocketing prices. All this makes it a product will keep buying. Read more

I’ve tried many brands, this one works with only one tablet. W other brands I had to take 3 at a time. If I drink a glass of reg milk, then I take 3. Otherwise 1-2 suffice. Highly recommend this brand. Just hot my second bottle in. Great price too. TY Read more

I have a bad case of lactose intolerance, and this stuff works as well as any I've tried. I also have a problem swallowing pills. This is bigger than average, but I just chew up pills for lactose anyway. This has a better flavor than most when chewed, because it has a slight sweetness to it. Read more

I usually chew the tablets. They taste a little chalky but seem to work better than just swallowing them. So far I have had good results. I take two tablets whenever I am eating my daily yogurt after lunch. Read more

Works well for me. I take it seconds before my first bite of dairy and I haven't had any issues with it. I don't understand the reviews saying it doesn't work at all. Either you're taking it at the wrong time or you're much more sensitive or you aren't lactose intolerant at all. These have a high level of lactase in it so they work well and I had a scoop of ice cream yesterday with only 1 tablet and it was no problem. I used to get bad cramps and stomach issues from just a splash of milk in the past so I'm happy with these. I would recommend to take more than 1 tablet if you're eating a larger amount of dairy or if you are more sensitive and to make sure you take another one if you are eating for more than half an hour as they don't last very long. So take one with your first bite and another half hour into your meal. If you do all these things and take it with your first bite of food then they should be working. I was worried about getting these rather than my normal brand (out of stock) due to the negative reviews but I'm glad I got them now. I gave 4 stars because they aren't as small as my last ones although they are still easy to swallow. Read more

I’m quite severely lactose intolerant - even a little bit makes me feel ill and bloated and leaves me with terrible skin. These tablets do nothing for me. I have practically taken them by the handful and actually looked pregnant with how bloated I was from consuming even small amounts of lactose. There are much better alternatives out there. Read more

I take one tablet before meds and food, never got the symptoms for lactose intolerance. Fantastic product,I have tried many brands before that started off ok then didn’t work as I need to take meds during the day and to this day are still working perfectly. Usually with other brands start to wear off in in a few weeks hence the time of buying this product and leaving a review later on. Totally recommend, will definitely buy again.Bonus: they got delivered before suggested date. Read more

What else can I say? I switched to these when LactAid first became too expensive then were no longer available. I tried a few brands, and one highly recommended one did nothing at all. I wouldn't now be without these. Cannot comment on easy to swallow, as I just crunch them up with my first bite of lactose laden food. They taste rather chalky, but so do other brands.I guess the only thing people reading this need to know is do they work? and are they good value for money? My answer to both is definitely yes! Amazing. I tried giving up milk and cheese and ended up losing 2 stone (not a good thing). Then I tried these and now I can eat whatever I like and no pain, no digestive problems, no extra sweating, no odd smells, no side effects. This stuff saved me from a life of misery! If you’re not sure I urge you to try them, they will change your life for the better. Read more
