I have never once in my life had an allergic reaction to shellfish. Had a delicious crab, shrimp, and scallop dinner just the other night and felt great. When researching this product, i remember shellfish allergy being one of the caveats. I did not think anything of it because, again, i have never once had an allergic reaction to shellfish.Took ONE capsule of this product and became ill. Throat was sore. Tongue was overcome with a strong metallic taste and felt almost numb. Breathing was labored. Head began to be overcome by the feeling of being ill.This Best Naturals Coral Calcium Plus 1000 mg 250 Capsules is also not really advertised/labeled correctly on the Amazon product page, amount per serving is a bit misleading. You receive: 250 capsules 500 mg each - see serving size information on back label. States that the bottle contains 125 servings, serving size of 2 capsules.Cannot image what would have happened if i had taken a full dose (2 capsules). Maybe a visit to the emergency room? At least 1/4 of these capsules are only filled half of the way. The remainder are filled all the way as capsules should be.I paid to have 100% filled capsules as that is what accounts for the daily values. These are a decent price for a hard to find product. Coral Calcium seems to have been taken off the shelf in many retail stores. I won't go to a "vitamin shop" because their prices are way too high. But I found this at Amazon and it works for me. I always wish tablets and capsules and pills were smaller for ease of swallowing but these are ok. Read more

Calcium is definitely good for women. I've been taking it since I was in my thirties. I have no bone issues and now I am in my 70's. I like that you need to take two capsules a day. I've no doubt this is an excellent product and I prefer my calcium is derived from natural sources so it's good in that respect.
