I bought two of these for my young daughters so they wouldn't have to carry lunch bags and backpacks. Love the idea of a separate yet attached "lunch box" and it does work great. There are two minor reasons why I can't give them a 5 star rating. One they are about an inch "too short" so folders don't fit right and have to be bent a bit to zip the main storage closed. Not a big deal right now, but when they get older I won't be able to use this type of bag any longer. The other issue is that they are just too narrow to fit a Bentigo lunch box and small drink in the lunch bag portion. I can mostly fit a narrow thermos bottle in but it is super snug and as a result the lining has actually started to rip at the seam in one of the bags. If you put a juice box or pouch in it's no problem at all. All in all I do like them, just wish they were a little (as in a couple of inches in each direction at most) larger. Read more
For the bag to be so big, a basic folder (approximately 13”x11”) has to be crammed inside to fit; a disappointment for the large compartment. It has a nice size compartment for the bentgo lunch box at the bottom, which allows more space in the main compartment. Read more
Got this for my Kindergartender. This is a very good quality backpack. Very spacious with a bonus lunch bag feature. I found the idea quite innovative. The backpack can hold my son's chromebook and has space remaining for other items. We also purchased the matching lunch box (sold separately) and it fits easily in the lunch bag slot with plenty of space left for snacks and a juicebox. Read more
I have at least 4 Bentgo bento boxes and a couple other brands for my 8 yo daughter. This backpack is the perfect size for her tiny frame and works perfectly for her bento boxes - all of them. The design is super cute and it is super functional! I put ice packs in the zipper mesh above the box and sometimes add a small ice pack inside the boxes. Both backpack & Bento box Are sturdy with great quality & pretty design. Bento box keeps things fresh & cold ALL day & we live in hot Florida. The only negative remark is that the bento box alone is hard for my 5 year old granddaughter to carry & slips out of her hands . When she carries the backpack, with some notebooks & bento box inside it’s rather heavy for her since she’s small. But After a year it’s in excellent shape & she”ll grow into it, I guess! Read more
This is the only backpack I found that had an insulated compartment for the bentgo lunch boxes. Perfect size for preschool and up! I love not having a separate lunch bag to pack! The kids really love the print too! Very well made Read more
I bought this backpack for my 4 year old whole she is in preschool. It is spacious, very easy to keep clean and adorable! I love that her lunch stays upright under the backpack to prevent any leaks. The cinched water bottle holder on the side holds all of her assorted water bottles without tipping over. 5 stars! Read more
I purchased this for my little guy that started kinder this year. I will say that I don't use the lunch compartment at all so that has deemed pretty useless space for us since we just use the bento box with the bento lunch bag because I didn't think about it before hand that he would have to carry his box and a drink and a fruit or whatever to the lunchroom (I don't know, it just didn't seem practical) so we purchased the lunch bag anyway and he uses that. Overall the quality is great and classic sized folders and notebooks fit just fine (I was concerned about that as another reviewer mentioned it wwasn't big enough) but I find that they all fit just fine in there without bending etc. Overall we are happy with our purchase but the bottom compartment - at least for us, was a total waste of space. I have only good things to say about these backpacks! We use them in conjunction with the Bentgo lunchboxes and ice packs. Everything fits perfectly - lunchboxes don't end up upside down or sideways, and are seperate from clothes/schoolwork. Others have said binders don't fit in the sleeves in the large zippered portion, but that's not been our experience. Agendas fit perfectly, there's designated space for trinkets and stationary, plenty of room for winter gear and ski pants. As a parent of 3, I've packed lots of school bags, and these are my favourite. Read more
