My hair didn't get stuck to the wand or slide off like it does sometimes with a regular curling iron. I used high heat and it didnt burn my hair. This wand curler works perfectly with all types of hair. As an African American woman I was worried that the curls would not stay and that it would take a even bigger miracle to get it to curl. I have natural 4c hair and other wand curlers failed to curl my hair due to its thickness and length, but not this. It curled magnificently and stayed curled for over a day and a half before I had to recurl it. My daughter uses it also and she has relaxed 4A hair and it lasted even longer and with her short hair she ended up with a messy bob that all of her friends loved.My only issue with this was the glove. although it was heat resistant as advertised, the material itself continuously got caught in the hair and at one point almost resulted in a hair catastrophe. its really easy to use with out the glove so there really is little chance of burning your hands while using the product without the glove. But I have to write a review of this!!!I have like the most pin-straight hair ever... ive tried curling irons, crimpers, scrunching, braids and even pin-curls (yes, what they did in the 1950's!!)My hair does NOT keep a curl. I've used 400 degree irons resulting in barely a wave... ive even had my hair professionally curled. And the curls lasted for about 2 hours before I was a frizzy disaster. I really wanted to try a bubble wand because I had seen tutorial videos online of women using a VERY expensive bubble wand and getting beautiful curls. The wand used in these videos was a part of a set that was over $100. I didn't want to pay that price for the set, so I searched the internet for a more affordable bubble wand. I found this one at a very affordable price and although I was skeptical that it'd be able to give me the same results as the expensive one I had seen in the tutorial videos, I figured I'd give it a try since I could return it for free if not satisfied. Well let me tell you, I'm highly satisfied!! The wand gives me amazing curls that literally last for 3-4 days....which is really impressive. Normally my curls using a 1" wand only last about 1-2 days and day 2 they don't have a lot of life left in them. My curls using the bubble wand had tons of life in them on day 4 and I got compliments every day on how great my curls looked. A friend/coworker told me about this ball iron after about the fifth time I complimented her on her hair. About a year later I finally bought one and I have to say, I love this thing.It's really easy to use but takes a little bit to get the hang of it. I suggest watching a YouTube video on it so you can learn the helpful hints before trying. That's what I did and the first time I used it I loved the results. I got compliments on my hair and the curls last for a few days. I hairspray the curls before combing through with either my fingers or a fan pick. I can brush it to but usually wait a day before brushing it to help the curls last longer. I do use another iron to curl my ends under because I don't like the ends being straight and this ball iron doesn't get the ends so they're straight but the hair looks cute like that too. Read more
