I think these work great. They're great for me for having elastic nipples, and they increase my output. The MAJOR downfall, though, is they only last a few weeks for exclusive pumpers (they say right on the box to replace every 2 to 8 weeks). I bought this because I kept seeing it in a breastfeeding group I'm in on FB. I was shocked and amazed how quickly these made a difference. I use both the Medala in style and the Elvie. I get great output with my medala but it hurt to pump and the Elvie,I barely got any output until I added these on the flange. When i tell you these cushions have made a world of difference I swear to you this has been the best purchase I have made so far in my breastfeeding journey. I wanted to try these because I have elastic nipples and I am willing to try most any product that is marketed to help with pumping. I'm an exclusive pumper and I have a spectra s1 and an s2. I tried these and it was painful!! It was like putting double sticky back tape on my nipples, with the skin being ripped when the suction started! It was unbearable even on the low suction settings. I have had better luck just not using anything to lubricate my flanges as far as the elastic nipples situation goes. I also have had success with the pumpinpals flanges. Not effective at all. I purchased these to help with the fit of my Elvie shields. The smallest size Elvie makes is a 21mm, and I need a 19mm. Unfortunately these were extremely difficult to put into the Elvie shields, and using them made it almost impossible to get the pumps lined up correctly. They impacted the suction and effectiveness when using my Elvie. Simply useless. I now just tough it out using shields that are slightly too large. Read more

The first pair that I bought were awesome for a couple of months, so I decided to buy another pair for backup. Only one cushion was in the box! Amazon replaced the item and I ended up receiving 2, but then there was a small tear in the rim of one of the cushions. I decided not to even bother since it was a headache with the first problem.Fast forward to today - with a few uses the “new” cushions are peeling sort of like an onion. These are great for helping make pumping with elastic nipples more comfortable. However, the first pair I bought had a slit in them after one day. I used them for a full two weeks anyway, and I ordered another pair. ( after 2 weeks of exclusively pumping. One had two cuts in the edges, including at the nipple, and both had the outer layer of plastic peeling off.) This second pair, one of the cushions has a slit after 1 use. I don’t even pull on them or stretch them like they show in the videos. I simply clean them and slide them into my flange.These would be great if they’d actually last. I can’t imagine paying $20 a week for the 9 months I have left of pumping ($800+). I’ll be looking for an alternative option. Read more

I have been using the cushions for over a week now, anywhere from 2 to 5 times a day. The cushions did reduce chafing and made pumping slightly more comfortable. However, getting them to fit in the flange is a huge pain. They never molded to the shape of my breasts or the flange (using the same one every time). They are very difficult to align and not get folded/linked in some way, which affect the output. One time I pumped for 10min with nothing coming out from one side because the cushion got moved and was pressing on my nipple funny.Although I like the cushions making the hard plastic softer, they are not worth the whole array of frustrations that come along. Not to mention for the price and the fact that you need to replace them every 2-8 weeks.Looking for other option. Read more

So these would be super great for when your nipple is cracked and you need a light suction to take it easy on your nipples. Not something to use all the time. Here's why, it muffles too good. My milk production went down each time I used them, i stop using them and my milk production went up. not to mention it kept sucking my nipple into the shield cushion. I take the machine off of me and the first time it happened it scared me, but my nipple was streached through the funnel of this cushion that is supposedly designed push back your nipple so that it doesn't do that. Came off easy but it's not doing what it claims it to be doing so I'll use this when my nips hurt,but not a every time use cuz it hinders the suction power of my breast pump keeping it from being able to get the milk out of my breast. I bought these hoping they might alleviate the pain associated with elastic nipples while exclusively pumping. I also hoped they might stop my nipples smacking up against the membrane of my pump.
