In judging a shower cap, the main function to review would have to be: does it keep your hair dry? I would say that with some special attention, I was able to use this shower cap to keep much of my (long) hair dry. However, this required patience, finesse, and time. Only the by handling the cap most gingerly and keeping my in-shower movement to a minimum did this shower cap fulfill its purpose. The fact is, the elastic in this cap is very loose, barely gripping the head - like a maddeningly limp, disinterested handshake of a passive aggressive.On the other quality, the reason for which I bought THIS shower cap and no other, was the purple color. Now, as I look back at the description, I see that although the description reads purple, the title reads lavender. It is in fact lavender. Close enough.So between the fact that the cap can, with the most delicate treatment, be used to keep SOME of my hair dry and the fact that it is purple-like, I give it one star above one, which is two. While I love the look of this shower cap, I could not get past the smell. I wore it just once, and I spent the whole time trying to rush myself out of the shower so a) I could get away from the smell, and b) the smell would not be transmitted to my hair. Also, when I got out and removed the cap, the back of my hair was wet from the neckline to almost halfway up. So not only did it smell bad, it didn't perform as expected, either. Read more

I have a small head circumference wise. In fact, i buy hats in the girls section and I am 34 years old. This shower cap fits snug all the way around, including on top. The shower cap does not balloon outward to protect already styled hair. I would say that the shower cap is well made though... and I am very glad with my purchase. But if you have a head larger than a girl's or are wanting to protect pre-styled hair... this is not the shower cap for you. Read more

This under-stated lovely pink shower cap works very well in the shower. I could not detect any offensive odor at all that was noted in previous reviews. It fits well on my average-sized head. I was so happy to find a solid pink shower cap! There are so many shower caps out there with garish & poorly designed graphics. If you expect this cap to be large, it is not! It is a very well made cap and fits nice and snug, but it is small, not bouffant. It washes beautifully in the washing machine if odor builds up on it. (At least in the HE washing machine which washes gently.) Read more

I have been using my new shower cap for over a week now. It smells fresh right out of the box. Also there is plenty of room for the average person's hair. Maybe if you had a whole lot of hair it may not fit so well. And the design is cute, not too bright and gaudy like others for sale at your typical Rite Aid or CVS stores. I' m very pleased. Read more
