I was so skeptical about this working for my 10 year old son who is EXTREMELY lactose intolerant. He cant have any cross contamination what so ever and lactose free products are off the table as well, not even a taste. I had no idea that it was even possible for a product like this to even exist When I saw someone make a comment about this, I thought it couldnt hurt since it is just probiotics. I asked his gastroenterologist about giving him this and he said we can give it a try, probiotics are not going to hurt him even if it doesn't work.We didnt even follow the instructions to a T because for some reason I didnt realize they were right on the box, we just put them in the fridge, and gave them to him 3 times a day for 7 days. On the 8th day we very slowly tried milk products little by little to test and see if it worked. We gave him 1 bite of lactose free cheese and waited an hour. No pain. Then he ate a bite of regular cheese and waited. No pain. Then he tried a drink of regular milk. NO PAIN.I cant even explain the excitement he (and I) had! We went to the store the next day and let him choose meals and snacks he hadn't been able to eat in so long. It has now been a few months and I am waiting to see when it will start wearing off so we can do another does. So far he is still pain free.This literally changed our lives and we no longer have to be scared of going to friends houses or restaurants and checking labels. I felt like I woke up in a twilight zone where my stressed and worries about him getting sick and having unbearable pain and learning/creating new recipes to be safe for him all just went away in an instant. I really needed this to work. . . It’s a very long summer worrying that any moment with friends and family might be cut short… especially after this past year. I took it exactly as prescribed (which at the time was three capsules a day), and didn’t partake in anything which may alter the affects. But after the last day, i got very ill…my stomach and all that follows kept me in the bathroom, on and off, most of the next few days. Had to resort to Imodium and the like to abate the symptoms. Could it have been something else? Well… anythings possible… but this was the only thing different in my diet. If anything at all changes i will post an update. But dont expect that i’ll be paying fifty dollars to try it again to do an update.Update: This product didn’t work well in recommended dose. However, the company contacted me.. and we worked together to make the decision to try smaller daily doses. I had intended NOT to try this again, but great customer service, and advice, allowed me to try again. The second time i tried the product it worked much better in the “smaller” daily dose advised. We decided to try one capsule a day for the first week.. and then, switched to two capsules a day for the next five days… and then back down to one for the next few days until product ran out after that. This allowed the bactose product to build up.. but not enough to bother me.. Also advised that I could simply try one capsule per day until gone. This worked very well. It didn’t bother my neither regions. And lactose was tolerated much better. I now understand that the company recommends only two capsules a day, so this must be better for others as well. So, I've never been one to write a review but my gastro told my about this stuff and, suffice it to say, I was skeptical. However, I went through the 7 day regimen (3 pills a day for 7 days) and it actually freaking worked! Completely blown away is really the only way I can describe it. The difference is night and day. I can literally eat whatever I want with ZERO effect. According to their literature, it lasts for months before having to re-do the treatment. I'm several weeks in and it is incredible! So this is an embarrassing thing to review talking about my past issues with Lactose Intolerance and the side effects of thus….diarrhea, gas… I have to say, I'm 2 months in now and Bactose is working incredibly well for me. Only negative is that you have to be consistent in taking the pills for the first 7 days, 3 times a day which was a little more work but after that you’re pretty much set for months so that was worth it to me. I’ve been suffering with Celiac’s Disease for more than half my life and due to the complications with my disease I have developed other issues ans cross-reactions with similar type grains and dairy. I took a chance with bactose (at the advisement of my physician) because I have longed for some semblance of normalcy and I am so happy to say that while I am still unable to eat grains I can reintroduce cheese to my diet because of this brilliant product. This needs to be recommended to everyone who is lactose intolerant. Doctors need to be prescribing this or at least recommending it to ALL lactose intolerant patients as soon as they discover their lactose intolerant.
