I have used the original version and absolutely loved it. We used it cleaning up around the house, out at the mall, walking to the park, etc. Now that my child has outgrown the original, I got this one hoping it would give me the same enjoyment as the original. While the quality is what you would expect from this brand, they have replaced the cross ("X") design of the original back straps with two straps that go over each shoulder and connect with a thin piece in the in the back. This causes the straps to cut into me and not offer any real support. The majority of the support seams to come from the waist strap and causes discomfort after a short period of time. This 2019 version is supposed to make it easier to fold down the head support flap so it will be out of the way when the child is facing out. I did not find that much of a difference. There are two stings that you are supposed to be able to tighten to keep it out of the way but all I could achieve was a crumpled up effect that is kind of out of the way if I keep the newborn seat zipped. Still, I could live with it if the back support straps were better. The other major problem with this version is that if you want to tighten up the should straps to make it tighter or higher around you, it pulls on the front so it get tighter on the baby as well. This means you can only get it so tight before it effects the baby. Read more
EDIT: I have done further research now and would not recommend this to ANYONE. Please read other customers reviews too, don't just take my word for it. BabyBjörn is normally a company that produces high quality products (my experience) but here, they've created a product that they have not researched or tried out enough before releasing it to the market. After speaking to their customer service it is blatantly obvious this is no accident - it's part of the bottom line. They release half baked ideas, we get to buy them and discover they suck and give them free feedback. They then make updates and sell us another "newer, improved" product we "get to" buy again. Their cost? Zero. Our? +/- 250 USD....old review:Never fit well. Child feels squeezed - no real room for comfortable placement of head, it's like the straps (that end up on your chest) are too narrow. The hard buckles on the top often hurt the baby while you slide the baby in/out - they're too bulky. Also if you want to adjust how tight you want it and where you want the carrier to sit on your body - you have to pull the straps in a way that will squeeze your baby!Baby often comes out with marks from the fabric. I don't know, feels like BabyBjlörn is living on a. past glory b. celebrities/influencers/social media. I switched to the silver color - now I wish I never had bought it. Too expensive for what it is. However it feels well made and sturdy, with quality fabrics, plastic etcI’ve reached out to BB and got the feeling they have heard these issues and know they have failed... Read more
I previously had the Bjorn One in cotton and while I loved it, I found that to be a little too hot for humid weather. They recently upgraded the One to have less fabric and to be more ergonomically friendly so I purchased the One Air.This entire carrier is made of mesh so it’s extremely cool and dries easily. I compared this with the Ergo Omni 360 Cool Air Mesh because neither require an infant insert. I found the Ergo to be too bulky for me in the shoulder straps and harder to put on. I live in the city so I wanted a sleek carrier that I could put on easily myself and wear sweaters and jackets over. I’ve also had success breastfeeding in this, but it does take some practice and is not as easy to do as with the Ergo because there is a mesh barrier between you and baby. I’ve worn this for hours at a time walking around the city and have felt great. Highly recommend. Read more
I wanted to love this carrier so badly! I went on a mission to find the perfect carrier testing 7 different carriers and this was not it. I loved so much about this but in the end I really didn’t like Teo things that I realized were deal breakers compared to other carriers, which cost so much less:- absolutely NO STORAGE! I mean what?! Seriously this needs to be changed.- the connectors on the top are too bulky and hard and close together. My little one was really uncomfortable when she would try to rest her head.Had to send back. I ended up going with the Lillebaby Pro Pursuit. Much cheaper, do comfortable, and so much storage. Read more
I am short and this design does not work. There is air space between my shoulder and the top straps sticking up so it doesn’t support my shoulders no matter how I adjust it. all the weight is in my hips. Seeing so many great reviews they must be from people who are tall and thin? Also a previous model offers a sun cover for the baby’s head in a zipper pouch which is half the cost and works much better for my needs. Love this company but not this design. Read more
Giving it 3 stars only because baby teeth can get stuck on the mesh. My 7 month old likes to “help” me put this on and is also teething. Her teeth got stuck on the mesh bib. Baby Bjorne was good about responding to my complaint and sent me a bib that goes over the bib area of the mesh. Really wish the bib would just come with the carrier. Otherwise, it’s a great carrier. I have bought the original baby Bjorn and loved their solid construction and ease of use, however someone mentioned to me the M shape sitting position was off in that one and this is why I purchased this.I was disappointed that the design wasn’t as solid as I’ve expected and the hooks were really difficult to use with a squirmy baby on your hands. I believe most moms strap themselves in with two hands and baby with one, so why is the part where you have to use one hand so hard to use???Maaayyybe with a month of use I may get the hang of it but for the price I’d rather get an easy to use carrier out of the box.Sorry but this is a pass for me and will return.
