My baby loved standing along the sides and stepping up in to the gaps (mostly to cry and tell us he didn't want to be in the playpen). His feet would often slip through but he was able to pull them back out (I did have to help him once). One time, his leg slipped so far through - past his knee - that his entire leg got stuck (see photo). I wasn't able to pull it back through. Thank goodness my husband was home - he also tried pulling his leg back through and wasn't able to either. (We obviously didn't want to injure his knee by jamming it back through.) My husband started to cut his pants off with scissors in hopes it would loosen it and somehow my baby wiggled his leg and it came out - thank goodness. It was stuck for nearly 10 minutes. I can't believe how poorly designed this playpen is - the width of the gaps is just wide enough for a baby's leg to squeeze through. We have another playpen by a different manufacturer and the gaps are much more narrow so there's no risk of this happening. I immediately packed up the playpen and sent it back. Aside from this critical design flaw, it's a well made playpen - easy to put together, kept it's shape pretty well, large space, but not worth the risk of getting baby's leg stuck! I was worried to spend a lot of money for playpen at the beginning. I looked and looked but I didn't wanna buy bright color playpen or cheap material... I wanted to buy something safe for baby and look good. I knew the size but when I built this wow! It's big! I also bought their play mat with this. Everything fits perfect! It's well made. My husband and I can fit in this! sometime we lay in this playpen together ! Only thing I don't like is hard to close the door at the bottom part. This is absolutely not worth the money you pay. We have tried everything to get the fence to stay in place and no matter what we try, it moves all over which is totally unsafe for the kids, who are using it to stand up and toddle around. I ended up having to build a wooden frame to hold it together at the base. If it were $50, ok. But when I bought it the cost was more than $200. It's all plastic. Why so expensive. Highway robbery. PLEASE PARENTS DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! I am a mother of a 1 year old son. This morning my son and I were in his play room. He placed his foot on the opening between the fence railings. His foot slipped and his leg got stuck above the knee. I immediately went to dislodge his leg and I could not. The swelling in his leg was instant. The bars are so tight I couldn’t use my arms to pull them apart. At this point his leg was so swollen and red it was starting to lose feeling in his foot. My son was struggling so much I thought he was going to dislocate his knee cap. Thankfully my husband was home. The plastic is so thick the only thing that could free my son was an electric saw. This is terrifying and unacceptable! I had to have an electric saw near my baby sons leg. Anything could have happened. My son currently has a large red mark on his leg. We will be taking him to the doctor. I called Amazon to formally complain and get this baby play pen pulled from the site. If you scroll to reviews from 2019 you will see that this has happened several times before. Several parents had to call 911 as their child was dangerously stuck! If I was home alone there would be nothing I could have done if my phone was not in reach or I wasn’t able to scream for my husband. I see this is a play pen that grandparents are buying. We bought two separate sets (one gray/white and one blue/white). They fit together perfectly and create a huge, safe space for our 11-month-old. I was worried it would slide around the carpet but that hasn’t been an issue and still seems stable, even with him pulling himself up and standing against the sides. The suction cups obviously don’t work on the carpet but we left them on anyway.This thing has been well worth the expense so far - especially since I’m home with him all day and we spend a lot of time in it. He’s safe, and we’re no longer chasing him around the house. There’s plenty of room for our whole family in it and he’s contained without necessarily noticing that he’s boxed in.*UPDATE: Our son is now 2 and this has by far been the BEST investment in baby gear. We’ve bought 3 sets total and use them all over the house. We didn’t keep it in a square for long; instead, we made one long chain of panels and sort of tucked each end behind the couch so all of our furniture was surrounded. (Can’t find a good picture.) That extended the space tremendously and basically our whole living room set was inside the cage (with only the TVs or dangerous stuff outside the fence). Inside the gate was a safe space and by far made our lives easier the older he got.As he’s grown, we’ve continued to move panels around to different areas of the house, blocking off just what we don’t want him getting into (like the TV or the fireplace). We even moved 10 panels to his room and perfectly surrounded a double-size mattress (140x200 cm from Ikea). Now he has a big kid bed that he can’t climb out of, and there’s plenty of room for all 4 of our family members to get inside and read books before bed.
