I actually LOVE this item. I gave it 1 star so it would show up with the reviews that say it only works once. After you use the thermometer you have to remove the body and soap oils from the sensor. This is easy. Squirt hand soap on the sensor, rub it around till its squeaky clean. (it should squeak when you rub it)I've been using this for about 3 months and it works Every time (after I wash it)BTW - The perfect bath temperature for an adult is 106 :) Read more
You have to shake this to turn it on. It will automatically shut off after a bit of inactivity. The first time we used it, it just turned on. The second time, it was kind of like "How do we do this?!" The third time, we figured it out. Shake it to turn it on.This will tell you if the water is too cold or too hot. Our daughter loves the warmer baths.I would recommend this to anyone worried about getting the water too hot or too cold. Read more
I am 15 weeks pregnant and I love to take baths! I bought this to use not only for my baby but for me to safely take a bath that isnt too hot while I'm pregnant. This is the cutest little thermometer and I LOVE that it flashes red and tells you when the water is too hot. It also tells you if the water is too cold for baby. I am so glad I purchased this it was worth every penny! Read more
New out of the box I tried this out. I always check the temp of my baby's baths and I have been doing do with a different thermometer for awhile now. I figured this would be much easier. Put it in and walked away came back and it said 90 degrees. I thought that was weird and checked with my other thermometer and was getting 97.5 degrees. This can be dangerous with how inaccurate it was which can cause people to heat the water up way too much for their baby. I'm hoping I just got a bad one and they aren't all like this. My recommendation if you buy this double check with another thermometer to make sure it's accurate. Read more
We ordered this because we're having trouble finding a good temp for our boy's bath. It worked ok for like 2 baths, then the other night we put it in and it was reading around 95 degrees even though it felt a little warm. Well we put our boy in the tub and immediately he turned red so we pulled him out of the bath. I got a different thermometer and stuck it in the water the real temp was 105!!!! I could not believe it, this thing could have caused severe burns to our baby. So, the next night we made his bath and threw this thermometer in the water, and I used my meat thermometer to compare the temps, again this one was reading almost 8 degrees cooler than the meat thermometer. So I will say it again, DO NOT BUY THIS you cannot trust it's readings. Thank god our boy did not get burn! Read more
I am addicted to baths! There's nothing I love better than reading a book in a steaming tub. However, how steaming is too steaming?? After a winter of struggling to get a full tub of hot water, I got a new water heater and suddenly the water felt much too hot. I couldn't tell if it really was too hot or I'd just gotten used to it being too cold. I was concerned about unwittingly scalding myself and went looking for bathtub thermometers. What happy luck, this adorable floating thermometer is in the shape of my favorite marine animal, the manta ray! Since I'm not using it for a baby, the flashing red light lets me know the water is ready--I find it very comfortable between 107-108, although another review said 106 is optimum for adults. No more getting into a tub to find it grossly lukewarm, or almost burning my foot off when it's unexpectedly too hot! It seems very accurate and a simple shake "wakes it up" and off it goes, bringing both a little whimsy and a lot of practicality to my me-time. Read more
This is my second item from Fmaidoc. Just recently one of my friends told me soak feet in hot water is good for the health (a Chinese tradition method). I decided to have a try. The water can not be too hot, a little bit higher than the body temperature which keep at around 103ºF will be the best. So, everytime to test the water is a problem. I am tired to keep adding cold and hot water to finally find a comfortable temperature and sometimes it hurts my finger if I put too much hot water. Then, I think I should have a bath thermometer. I remembered last time when I purchased my ab belt from Famidoc, I saw they also sell bath thermometer on Amazon. I searched famidoc bath thermometer and I found 3 options. 2 fishes and 1 this flower. My son like this flower one and I think I can also use this for his bath. So, I purchased this flower bath thermometer. Received it yestoday, open box and have a try. A nice and cute unit. This unit needs shake to start and need take like 30 seconds to ready the accurate temp. When the water is too hot, the red light will on and has hot displayed. After used it, just leave it there, it will turn off itself. So far so good. I will keep using this and I may share more if I have any new experience with this bath thermometer. Read more
I was pleasantly surprised by this little gadget. Adorable, good size, doesn’t flip over easily, easy to use and read and has lasted for 6 months of regularly bathing 2 babies. Takes just a bit of time to catch up with water temperature while initially filling the tub, but is never so far behind that the ultimate water temp is drastically off - that is, no need for tedious correction of water temp after I’m done filling the tub. No issues with batteries so far. My favorite thing about it is that it isn’t a noise maker!!! The lights are completely adequate. Other baby gadget manufacturers please take note. I also love that there aren’t any buttons involved. Just shake the thing to turn it on and it will turn off on it’s own when it sits still for a certain length of time (taking it out of bath and setting it on a firm surface). It has never turned itself off while on duty. Read more
