My preferred sinus rinse here. NeilMed makes the most common sinus rinse kit you see in the big box stores. I've used it, and it works just fine for what it's supposed to do. At some point in time when I needed a new rinse bottle, I purchased one of these Ayr kits. These bottles have a smaller hole in the tip, while holding the same capacity as the other brand. Big deal, right? Well it is. The smaller hole actually helps put a little more force behind the rinse, but it also lets you get a bit more rinsing out of one bottle of solution because not as much comes out with a squeeze. I found with the other brand that I'd basically get maybe 2 solid squirts and it was nearly empty. With the Ayr bottle, I can do 2 in each nostril and still have enough for one extra for whichever side is bothering me more. I like that. So I've come back several times and purchased a new Ayr kit when I wore out my last bottle.PRO TIP: The packets that come with the Ayr bottles are basically like rectangular sugar packets. They can be hard to get poured into the bottle without some extra care. However, the packet refill kits you can get form NeilMed are more tubular shaped, which makes them much easier to dump in the bottle. So I get the Ayr bottles, but use the NeilMed refill packets. Made a big difference in my overall health. Beats allergy medicines that you have to take forever. Rinsing daily made them unnecessary for me and resolved the symptoms much better, and is obviously natural. The bottle lives for many years. the salt packets are good too, but it's a hassle to keep ordering them. i found that 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt per bottle works just as well.REALLY REALLY help if you get the flu or a sinus infection. in that case, i use them almost every couple of hours.I sterilize them occasionally (esp after i use them when i'm sick after recovering) by emptying them and putting some alcohol in them for a day or so.THey also help reduce snoring if you use them just before going to bed. I've only used the spray for three days but the first day didn't count - couldn't overcome my resistance to spraying water up my nose. But I was holding my head wrong and found videos on the web showing me how to do it right. On the second day I just held my breath and tilted my head to the side and it worked pretty well. In a panic, I sprayed too hard and made my ear pop. Today I did much better.Even when I did it wrong, I had less drainage. I've had chronic sinusitis for a decade and recurring sinus infections. Prednisone knocks out all of the symptoms but they return when the prescription is finished. My doctor also wants me to use Flonase twice a day but I attribute it for my occasional nose bleeds. This nasal rinse relieves me of my symptoms immediately and for a longer period than the Flonase does. I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do long term.Addendum: Been using this rinse for three months now (morning and night). More importantly, I started using  Ayr Saline Nasal Gel, With Soothing Aloe, 0.5 Ounce Tube  every hour to keep my nasal passageway's moist and healthy. What I found is that it also helps keep them open. Read more

If you have sinus problems and your Dr. recommends that you do sinus washes this product is better than NeilMed sinus rinse. The NeilMed bottle is larger and it's somewhat difficult to get a good squeeze during rinsing. I wasn't able to find this product in the local stores so I bought the Ayr product from Amazon when my ENT Dr. recommended it.Don't forget you can always make your own saline solution. It isn't necessary to buy the little packets of salt and baking soda. I use filtered water heated in a microwave to make up 1 Qt of saline solution by adding 1 tsp of sea salt or kosher salt (don't use salt that contains iodine) and a pinch of baking soda. Keep the container in the refrigerator. You can also use tap water but you have to boil the water prior to adding the salt and baking soda. Read more

These spray bottles come with overpriced packets of ‘buffered’ salt but when they are gone I have used a half teaspoon of plain salt with no I’ll effects. I have had sinus surgery and good ENT care but rinsing with this system (I take three prepped bottles into the shower with me) has given me the best relief. Read more

Works better than a Neti Pot. Recommended by my doctor. I use whenever congested. Once the salt packets are used up, you can use your own salt (I would recommend sea salt and not iodized salt). It is not necessary to buy another package unless you feel more comfortable refreshing the bottle more often. Read more
