I had the opportunity to try out two sets from the Averr Aglow Skincare line. Each Averr Aglow kit addressed specific skin concerns. The Radiant Skin Set comes in blue and white branding and is hydration-focused. The Clear Skin Set comes in black, gold, and pink branding and is acne-focused.I'm mentioning both kits here as I know many other users may struggle with acne and mature skin and curious about which set may be better suited to try. Additionally, I found similar hits and misses in both groups, and it is easiest to address them in one cohesive review. My feelings on both sets are very similar, and I like making explicit comparisons between their product lines.I will try to include as many relevant images as possible with the appropriate review post. Please see my included photos of products for ingredient lists, colorways, packaging, etc. Both the Radiant Skin (white) and Clear Skin (black) sets come with four components in identical packaging (minus colorways) and are conveniently numbered in order of use. Each kit has a bonus sleeve of 80-count cotton pads tucked in with the assortment of skincare. The Averr Aglow Skincare sets are sized to last the average user 6-8 weeks, can be used AM and PM, and each retail for ~$149 as of this writing. Remember, my review is covering two individual sets. You will only get four skincare-concern-specific products and one sleeve of cotton rounds with each set.Averr Aglow is a female-owned company, "artisanally crafted in Atlanta" (in the USA) and branded as cruelty-free, nature-based, and for all skin types.Ingredient-wise, these are plant extract dense formulations, "botanical-rich," what I consider lux natural skincare. That is not to imply that all-natural is "better" or suitable for all users. For example, some of these products contain pineapple, which has protein dissolving (digestive) enzymes. The bromelain effectively breaks down dead skin cells, enzymatically exfoliating the skin. But this same enzyme is used in meat tenderizer because it is so effective and may not be suitable for all users (depending on the sensitivity and skin type). So, I recommend users, regardless of which set you buy, patch test before committing to regular use. And without nitpicking too much, everything is a "chemical," everything - including water. Oh, with the mention of enzymes and plant extracts. Many of these harbor natural AHAs and BHAs, so be sure you use an SPF of at least 30 throughout the day. Exfoliants make your skin more sensitive to UV exposure.Number 1 - Hydration Dew (4oz) win-win on both, 4 out of 5Both come in 4oz glass spray bottles. The Radiant Skin version is called Opulent Hydration Dew (watery blue mist with a clean linen scent), the other Clarifying Hydration Dew (pink watery mist with a mild rose scent). Carefully shake the Dew before applying. One mist will do, and I recommend dispensing this into your palm and not directly onto your face. While fine, a lot of liquid comes out. I prefer to mist one or two times and gently patting it over the skin. The Opulent Hydration Dew instructions suggest users mist 3-4 pumps evenly over the face and neck before applying the number 2 step, the Refining Cleansing Nectar or Decadent Restoring Cream (number 4).Ingredients include: apple fruit water, bitter orange, blueberry extract, lime caviar, plum, coral weed, niacinamide, holy basil, grape seed, aloe, chinaberry, pineapple, Tumeric, eggplant, etc. You get the idea; plant extracts heavy. Again, please see images for complete lists. The Clarifying Hydration Dew instructions differ, suggesting users either mist 8-10 times before following up with the number 2 step Radiant Cleansing Nectar or 3-4 before applying number 4, the Flawless Nourishment Cream.Ingredients include: water, rose, cucumber, saw palmetto, eggplant, aloe, Tumeric, etc.Verdict? A win-win (4 out of 5). I like the feel, smell, use, and suitable packaging of both misters. They are botanical-heavy yet surprisingly light in fragrance and haven't caused any unpleasant reaction so far. But they're not entirely necessary to your skincare regime. The mist is more of a luxurious, relaxing experience, not an essential one, to me. And I would assume this step would follow the cleansing nectar.Speaking of, let us move along to step two, the cleansing nectars.Number 2 - Cleansing Nectar (4oz) meh on both, 3 out of 5Per the images, the Radiant Skin's Refining Cleansing Nectar is blue and clear, smells like blue tansy, and the Clear Skin's Radiant Cleansing Nectar is pink and clear, sweet and fruity. Both come in seemingly suitable glass bottles with screw-on lits. Both have mild botanical scents. You can visibly see a distinct separation of fluids in each respective bottle.Note, the ingredient list for the Radiant Cleansing Nectar (the pink one) contains witch hazel and alcohol. The Cleansing Nectars are leave-on products. You are instructed to mist with step one, shake up the bottle containing your cleansing nectar, dispense it onto a cotton round (included), and buff the face and neck with the saturated pad in circular motions. Repeat 3-4 times. Do not rinse. My issue is the same with both versions of Averr Aglow's Cleansing Nectars. The two amalgamated fluids comprising the nectar separate almost immediately. I'm constantly sealing, shaking, and soaking in the hope I'm getting a good mix. Also, my instinct is to rinse this off. I regularly double-cleanse in the PM to effectively disrupt the copious amounts of tinted SPF I layer on throughout the day. Water-based cleansers alone are not robust enough to cut through water-resistant sunscreen. I also have acne/congestion-prone skin. I don't leave oil balms on my skin. The ones I usually use are designed to emulsify and rinse off clean. Then I follow up with a water-based cleanser to remove anything left. Here, we're encouraged to let these oil and extract heavy nectars sit on the skin, which seems counterproductive to me. I feel greasy and unclean afterward.Number 3 - Elixir (1oz) absolute zero. These were the biggest failures in both kits.Wow. What can I say about these. Please see ingredient lists. I won't be discussing details in this section as my issues were more with the packaging, use, smell, and texture.First, packaging-wise, both Elixir's, which are more like mud masks, get two thumbs down. They both come in a 1oz glass and plastic pump. The muddy consistency is far too thick and dense to dispense from the straw and pump. I never got them to come out successfully. These should have been in jars.Per the images, you can see how hopelessly lumpy and inconsistent the formulas are. Of the two, the Clear Skin Elixir (the pale pink one) from the Clear Skin Set (black) was better, but that isn't saying much. The product didn't separate, like the Radiant Skin version, but the fragrance was so overpowering I could not use it.The Radiant Skin's Invigorating Renewal Elixir was visibly separating and didn't smell like something I wanted to apply to my face.Number 4 - Cream (1oz) my favorites out of the bunch, especially when paired with the mist. And finally, step 4, the Radiant Skin's Decadent Restoring Cream and the Clear Skin's Flawless Nourishment Cream. Both are suitably packaged in simple 1oz glass jars, as the aforementioned elixirs should have been. Still, I did get some seepage from the Radiant Skin's cream (blue and white packaging).Per the images, the separated cream has an alien blue oil slick running wildly along the surface. I love the intense blue-tansy scent, and the cream is medium weight with excellent absorption. Instructions say to use a dime-sized amount. I suggest mixing the oil and cream base, though they do not note the possibility of the product separating in the instructions. Leaves my combination skin with a matte finish. But there are dozens of other oils and extracts (including apple, lemon, bergamot, strawberry, etc.) that might not suit all users. So please patch test. These creams have the most components in their respective ingredient lists. See images. The Flawless Nourishment Cream (pink and black) also has a wonderfully intoxicating scent, rosy, vibrant color to match, and a glycerin-slip-like texture. Unlike the Radiant Skin cream, this one feels more like a medium-weight ointment. It too absorbs well into the skin, assuming you don't overdo it. Directions for this beautiful pink moisturizer suggest doling out a pea-sized amount and adding a couple of sprays of the Clear Skin's Step One Clarifying Hydration Dew, massaging the two together, then applying it to the face and neck. It does add a boost of hydration and the amalgamation of the two products puts off an intense, pleasant floral aroma. As I said, some hits, some misses. I didn't mix and match items between the two sets. I used the products in each line with their respective kin. I will likely continue to use the mists and moisturizers. The cleansers are okay, but I won't bother with the elixirs. Their packaging, smell, and formulations are all wrong.Would I get either of these complete sets again? Likely not. If I'm only enjoying two of the four items in each respective kit, I would maybe buy them individually if they were available. Otherwise, no. I own and use inexpensive and expensive skincare because the things I use are gentle, effective, and suitable to my overall needs. The mists and moisturizers in the Averr Aglow Clear and Radiant Skin sets are beautiful, but they're not products I'd go out of my way to repurchase. They're nice, pleasantly fragrant, and hydrating but not practical for my sensitive, acne-prone skin. That is not to say they won't work for you; these products aren't for me. Read more

I can't help but wonder if the recent hot weather had anything to do with some of the products turning. The below review has been my honest experience, but I hope if you give this a try that yours is a good experience. I feel that a neutral rating is necessary here. This is my least favorite set of skincare products of all time. Of the 4 products there was only 1 that i didn't dislike....everything was boxed so securely though, which I appreciate. This is a set that is not meant to have any water rinsing in any of the steps. It stinks. I don't know if I've ever said that about a product before but this is stinky. First, you spray (didn't like this one but didn't hate it), then use the oily toner (strongly disliked it) then the serum thats so chunky it won't even come out of the pump (didn't use it because I literally cannot get it out - trust me, I tried. I pumped so long my arms grew tired) then the moisturizer thats curdled looking and separated.I'm fairly certain the serum and moisturizer are expired. If not, then they've gone sour I suppose. They look nothing like the photos and I know that's never the case with anything, but these truly look bad. The toner left me feeling so greasy. I had to rinse my face twice to get it off when everything was all said and done. I was taught never to waste, and with little children in the home I live by that today, but I tossed this out which is something else that I've never done with a product before. I feel awful for doing it, but I know I will never use this set, and not being certain whether some of the items have turned means I can't donate it either. (if the serum and moisturizer are meant to be chunky and curdled then my bad. But I don't think they are and a proper mixing didn't help matters). Read more

This pricey four piece "hydration" set comes in a plain black box, with each of the products packaged in their own printed product boxes, and a bonus package of disposable cotton rounds to use with the toner. The spray on "dew" was fairly nice and felt somewhat hydrating. Stored in the fridge this would be a refreshing mid-day or evening spritz to revive tired skin. Other than that though, this collection was a bust for me.The "nectar," a.k.a. toner, which intentionally separates, so you have to shake just before use, didn't feel all that refreshing, and left my skin feeling a bit sticky after use. Both the "elixir" (serum) and "restoring" cream looked separated/congealed in the jar/bottle, and the seal on the cream wasn't intact, giving me serious pause about product integrity. Did try the cream and really disliked how it felt on my face. While it looked like it absorbed OK, it felt kind of mask-like, and even an hour or so later seemed to be sitting on top of my skin. The serum seemed to absorb better, but didn't do anything I liked for my skin, and left it feeling almost greasy.Everything except for the mist also has a strong, earthy, patchouli-like scent of that I really did not enjoy. Very, very not for me. Read more
