The bar itself works great - only takes a couple swipes on the scalp and then it lathers up well as you rub with your hands. Rinsing, your hair literally squeaks (not sure that’s good?)What isn’t so great is that the bar arrived in a plastic mailing bag and the cardboard package the bar was in was placed in yet another plastic ziplock bag. I bought this because I wanted a shampoo/body combo bar for traveling. As a shampoo, it did a good job. My hair was literally squeaky clean but I felt as though I would eventually need a conditioner as this might dry my hair out. As a body bar, I didn't care for it. Again, my skin was squeaky clean but felt more dry than usual after I got out of the shower. Maybe TMI here, but others might want to know - it's not good for use on the privates because it burns. All in all, it's just a little too harsh for my liking. Read more

The bar smells amazing! Initially when I used it on my hair, while lathering, my hair was so soft. Once I rinsed my hair out, my hair was dry and squeaky clean. It gave that same feel like when you clean a piece of tupperware. My hair was even more tangled. I wouldn’t recommend this product for black girls with tight curls and closed cuticles.I used it as a body wash and loved it!! Read more
i opened the mailing bag this came in and was amazed - the smell is soooo good!! a nature-y smell in the same vibe as neutrogena's rain bath and aveda products. i'm on a medication that makes me lose some hair, and i used this and my hair feels full again, it's like back to it's lioness mane. but i have only used it once so far. i have never used any other shampoo bar. i am going to take this traveling (should be good, won't spill in luggage) - so far, so good! hopefully will remember to update review if anything changes. ps my hair isn't oily. it's long, wavy and i tend to have a dry scalp - this helped it keep it's natural wave and my scalp is not itching me. also, close your eyes when you use it bc if it gets in your eyes it stings a little. can't wait to get in the shower and smell it again :-) Read more
I absolutely hated this bar my first use... but once I used it properly it's my favorite shampoo ever. You want to be extra careful not to use too much (more than other shampoo bars). The scent is SO strong. It's natural, so no worries if you have chemical fragrance sensitivities (as I do)... but it's overpowering and VERY hard to wash out if you use too much. You want to lather it in your hands... not much at all... and then use the lather to essentially just wash your scalp... the soap runoff is enough to clean the ends. RINSE RINSE RINSE. Then repeat the process. It's better to use a little and wash a couple of times than to try and get a big lather.The scent when you do it this way is fabulous... like faint incense and keeps your hair fresh smelling for days between washing. I follow with a DIY ACV rinse and/or flaxseed gel conditioner. Your hair feels a little waxy until it dries... but feels silky and amazing once it does. Read more
I use this shampoo bar along with a vinegar/water/essential oil conditioner and my hair is the softest it has ever been. Even organic, liquid shampoo makes my hair feel coated but this bar makes it feel great. Read more
