I am a professional makeup artist and I usually buy my wedges from a makeup store but decided to get these instead and it was a BIG MISTAKE! These wedges do not blend they are too soft and they soak up more makeup in them while removing from the face! A total waste of makeup time and money! These makeup sponges are phenomenal. I love the size as they are not too big and don't seem wasteful yet are big enough to cover the face thoroughly. I go through makeup sponges fairly quickly as I do not reuse them and I love that this pack comes with plenty of them. Amazing to apply foundation. Perfect for highlighting and contouring. I do not like the sponge for applying foundation. The sponge is not dense and smooth. It does not give me a flawless finish. To me the sponge is small 1"x1.75"x1.875"(diagonal side).I think the sponge is better for nail art or craft. Read more

I got these because another reviewer mentioned how soft they were, and they were RIGHT! I’ve definitely noticed that many of sponges from cvs, target, etc. have gotten more cheapo feeling lately and feel drying and rough on my skin. Im not sure how to explain it, but it’s like these ones have very fine sponge pores(?) and the other brands have larger, coarse ones. These are the softest sponges ever. The makeup sponges carried at CVS and Target were awful -- very rough. The Artist's Choice are soft and make for comfortable application of foundation. I don't buy these for makeup, but I buy them to use for my sign business. They are great to stencil with. I even take scissors and get two uses out of one sponge. Very economical!UPDATE: I am updating my review. I have been purchasing these to stencil with for quite some time. My last two purchases, they are different - very porous and now they just soak up the paint and expand. I still have some older ones here and comparing them, they are definitely different. First package sent was opened and every sponge was COVERED in black mold!!! How do you even send that out??!!!!! SO GROSS!!I returned, second package came ripped as well. If I were using these for my face I'd return them again. Good thing I only use them for blending inks. They do work wonderful for that purpose..... when there's NO mold on them.Just how on earth can you even consider mailing out a moldy product.? And you can't use the excuse of "I didn't notice". These wedges are very porous and textured making them complete garbage at applying makeup. They are also smaller than the makeup wedges I'm used to.I gave them a fair chance and tried to apply foundation in the way I normally do with high density makeup wedges but I ended up with a patchy, textured application. Honestly it looked terrible and I have been using makeup wedges to apply my foundation every day for 15+ years. I chucked the whole package in the trash.You might want to try using them to apply special effect makeup for texture or arts and craft projects... for their indented use they are useless. Read more
