I saw somebody on tv with purple hair and suddenly had to have it. I ordered the color Purple Rain and besides smelling like a purple sucker I really like the product. The first time I hid a tiny streak in the back under the rest of my hair. You could only see it when I wore my hair up. I got so many complements that each time I added more until I got to what you see in my photos.The process is a bit messy but I’ve spent the past 40 years watching hairdressers put highlights into my hair so I knew how to do it. I used a bowl and a thick makeup brush and wrapped the streaks in foil. Left it on for 30 min. I also used gloves and wiped up spills right away as it stains surfaces.After these photos I put some streaks next to my face which I don’t like as they’re too bright. I’ve scrubbed them half a dozen times trying to get the stuff to lighten up but it really adheres to my light gray hair.I’ve just ordered Virgin Pink and the diluter and can’t wait to try it! I am very pleased with this product. I have virgin brown hair and I didn’t bleach it before applying this hair dye. I used the shade Virgin Pink. I left it on my freshly washed and dryed hair for 4hrs. I wrapped my hair in plastic and then in towel to keep it warm.I attached a pic of my original hair as well so you can get a better idea. I had gray/white hair I was trying to grow out, but got sick of it. So I tried this color. Smells great. Left it on 1 hour. Did a great job coloring my hair, though a little uneven in spots. We'll see how long it lasts. I typically only wash my hair 1 x a week because I have very curly dry hair. I love it and definitely recommend. Read more

I bought the Virgin Pink color. I had looked at all the picture reviews prior to buying it and it seemed like everybody had theirs lighter than what came out on my hair. Even though it's not what I'd expected, many people say the color suits me very well. I'm glad and I ended up liking it too =)Another good thing is it doesn't smell bad at all. I love the smell. It smells like those fruity scented markers that you had as a kid. Yum!So I have 3 photos. Not sure how I feel about this stuff honestly. Well, let me correct that, I'm not sure how I feel about Transylvania. Had been using poison and while that washed out quickly, needed constant reapplication and wasn't my favorite color "on me", it faded to a beautiful pink that I was over the moon about. I finally figured out how to dilute it perfectly so that I could skip over the unflattering bright red color and stay at the lovely pink color I preferred. Also had great experience with the purple (can't remember exactly what it was called...) but came out dark vibrant purple and went through an array of beautiful purples before it settled into a gorgeous lavender that it stayed at for awhile. The purple so far has been my favorite of all the colors I've tried. Currently am using Transylvania. I was homesick for my natural dark hair but didn't want a permanent color that I would have to rebleach out once I was sick of it like I quickly am. Am finding that unlike the other colors it doesn't fade away as quickly or as completely which should be thrilling but is actually disappointing since it was why I got it to begin with. I just wanted to revisit my dark hair, not live with it forever. Am worried will have to rebleach it to get it all out which is what I'd wanted to avoid to begin with. As far as the color itself - meh. It has gone through some pretty phases but seems to be washing out into this smoky bluish/purple/ green thing that i'm not sure how I feel about. My son described it as "mystical", so that's not all bad.I have found that none of the colors really seem to adhere to my gray hair. They stubbornly refuse to conform. I'm at a place in life where I don't have that many but the ones I DO have are at the front of my hair line and temples and all of the colors will dye it for a day or 2 but not longer then that. The Transylvania however has turned them a weird greenish color that they seem to be holding onto...First pic is "Poison" morning after application. 2nd pic is the purple after a week. 3rd pic is Transylvania about 4 weeks out. 4th pic is Transylvania morning after application. 5th pic is "poison" after about 2 weeks. 6th pic is "Poison" at about 5 weeks which was my favorite <3, very light pastel cotton candy pink. I love this hair dye. I used the color poison when I had bright red hair that I bleached prior to coloring, and now that it's dark again I use Transylvania to keep the black fresh. I wouldn't use Transylvania the day of or the day before any important events, it stained my scalp blue! It definitely has a blue undertone which I like, keeps it from looking brassy as it fades. It smells amazing and lasts longer than other semi permanent dyes I've used. Read more

I'm a new fan of arctic fox hair color! I wanted to try something fun with my hair, so I decided on purple rain. I started out with medium brown hair (so no pre bleach or anything) - I applied it all over my hair and left it on for... I think maybe 40 minutes? When I rinsed it out, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a nice, deep plum color and my hair was super shiny! In the sunlight it showed up very vibrant purple. The color actually stayed in my hair for the past 2.5 months - it faded to a nice magenta color. Since I was ready to try something new with my hair, I ended up striping the color out... so I'm not sure how long it would have lasted altogether. Overall, I really like arctic fox: the color was nice, made my hair shiny, it stayed for a long time, it didn't stain my sheets, I love that it's vegan and doesn't have horrible chemicals in it, and it smells nice... like grapes. Love this! I bleached to a copper colour (it was literally the colour of the wall behind me in the pictures) and used this (aquamarine) to achieve a darker teal/peacock green type of colour and it worked very well. The colour stays lovely for weeks on too. I do my colour every 6-8 weeks to keep it vibrant ( wash my hair twice a week ) and tbh this is the best semi permanent colour I've ever used. Got so many compliments too. For a reference my hair is fairly thick, layered and about 7 inches below the shoulders and the 4oz bottle is plenty to generously cover the whole head. Read more

Love the arctic fox range, always been my go to brand for colours! Don’t use if you’re not wanting a bright colour, this is SUPER bright, especially in sunlight!! I personally LOVE bold colours so this suits me perfectly. You’ll find yourself turning heads with this colour. It also smells gorgeous (as do all arctic fox products). Whilst I will admit that this took most of the green tones out of my bleached hair, in order for it to work as intended your hair has to be very light, we are talking bleach level 10+.Other wise it looks more like a burnished silver (old silver) I stead of sterling silver.It has a nice metallic finish and whilst I would NOT recommend this as a stand alone hair dye, I would recommend it as a toning mask/wash for over other ashy and cool blonde tones...However having said that, there are allot of purple and blue shampoos that are cheaper and would do then same thing with regular use.The price point on this for the size is just a reflection of it being a trend product. In my opinion.I have used directions and manic panic for years and must admit, have had better results.I would compare this to a cheaper version or Maria Nila, it even smells the same (grape soda type scent)I was happy to try it but I’m not certain I would buy it again.
