I love this product!!! I have 3 girls and I have spent way more money than I care to admit at a certain pre-teen favorite jewelry store in the mall on getting their ears pierced! Don’t believe them when they say it’s “FREE”. Lol! Anyway, my oldest daughter wanted a second hole, so she asked me if we bought these if I could do it for her. I had no problem with it since I worked at the above mentioned pre-teen jewelry store when I was in college! I have done this 100 times or more. It was super easy and fairly painless. I ordered another set and pierced my 10 year old’s ears as well. Although I had done this many, many times before, you don’t have to be a professional to do it. Anyone can do it. First, make sure you clean the ear lobes with alcohol! Then, make sure you mark, on both ears, where you want the holes before you pierce them. Don’t mark one hole and pierce it and then go do the other side. Mark both sides and then look at them straight on to make sure they are even. Make sure they are equal distance from the face and that both are the same height. The holes should be pretty much centered in the middle of your ear lobe. It’s probably a good idea to also have the person you are piercing take a look and make sure they look even to them. Then just load the earrings in the gun, line the earring post up with the center of the dot you marked, and squeeze the gun. This doesn’t pop like some of the older style piercing guns. You actually have to use your own force to push it through. But, it’s easier than it sounds. Don’t use an excessive amount of force, but don’t be too gentle either. You don’t want it to only go halfway through. I would say about the same force you use for a stapler. After you go all the way through, slowly release the gun and then very slowly pull away from the ear. It will probably leave a plastic sleeve around the earring. That’s ok, just take that off. It should be in 2 pieces, and should come apart and off pretty easily. Then, and this is super important, make sure you loosen the backs on the earrings!! The pressure from the piercing pushes the back pretty tight on the ear. This can become uncomfortable pretty quick when the ear starts to swell a bit. Which is normal. So, just make sure you pull back on the backs a bit. Then make sure to clean the ears with alcohol or peroxide. If you happen to have some of the cleaner from the jewelry store, that’s great. If not, it’s ok. I do have to mention, these are pretty big earrings. Bigger than I thought. They would definitely be too big for a small child. They are a little big for my 10 year old, but not so big that they look ridiculous or anything. they were a little too big for my oldest daughter’s top hole. But, she just dealt with it for the 6 weeks. No big deal. They are definitely bigger than the ones in the mall for sure! Read more

The first one I did worked perfectly the second one the clear casing around the rhinestone part didn’t break and come off so all I did was put my nail in between the crack and it easily broke off. No pain I did it very slowly because I didn’t want to make the earring to tight. No pain after either!! So happy with it. And the backing wasn’t hard to get off either. Read more

As someone who has been piercing ears professionally for many years, I was initially skeptical. However, these are super nice quality and are better than the kits used by Claire's, etc. This was sterile, so easy to use and probably the quickest and least painful piercing I have done on my ears. I bought this in the middle of a life crisis and thought why not pierce my own ear. Maybe not the smartest but that's okay. I bought these and didn't use them until about 2 months because I was a little terrified. Until one night i just went for it! So i put the gun up to my ear, and i chickened out a little and pressed the gun just enough to not pierce at all but also to break the earring out of the gun. So at this point there's no going back, i have so much motivation to just get this done. So i finish taking the earring out of the gun and pierced it with the earring itself. BOOM done and all was well. Now that it was done on one side, I could try with the gun again. HOLY CRAP it freaking hurt to push all the way through with the gun, I ended up taking that earring out of the gun too (on purpose this time) and just did it with the earring again. I had Claire's ear piercing cleaner from before so i used that every morning and night for a couple of days. You can totally do it yourself. Pretty painless and simple. It comes with no instructions but if you search self ear piercing on YouTube you will find videos that show you how. It does not come with a marker but does come with 2 tiny alcohol pads. The main challenge for me was making sure the back was in the right place. I put my ear against the back of the machine where the stud is and slowly pressed down aligning the earring post to where I had marked. Then very swiftly I pressed firmly and viola done. The first one was painless and perfect. The second one was ok but for some reason it didn’t get all the way through... but it was easy to poke it the rest of the way and was still painless. I would buy again amd recommend. I bought the 3mm and they were the perfect size.****Update 2 weeks later****Ears healing properly. Earrings are in great shape and are very comfortable. I recommend this for piercing ears ! Virtually painless and very easy to do yourself. I did 3 cartilage piercings all after one another and it barely hurt(mind you I applied dr numb 30 mins prior to piercing ) I have had cartilage piercings Done before with a needle and they hurt a lot more than this. These guns are not spring loaded so you actually have to push them through the skin yourself ( Unlike a real piercing gun)my ears feel fine now (not hot or stinging like I’ve had before ) I want to buy more and do a ton of more piercings !!
