The straps are rather unsightly but then again, so is a busted TV. That is the only reason I deducted a star. This following will be a bit confusing since both the furniture the TV sits on and the legs used to mount the TV are technically both called a stand (according to their packaging) but bear with me. The universal TV stand I have (also on Amazon) has rather wobbly legs, making me nervous the set would topple over. I was able to attach the straps to both stands with the same screws. As seen in pics 1 & 2, the top of the straps were attached with the tabletop stand screws and the bottoms of the straps were attached to the furniture TV stand using its screws as shown in pic 3. Although the straps came with its own hardware, I did not need any of them. This product is a life saver, as our TV has already been accidentally bumped numerous times without falling over. We received these TV straps off of our baby registry and just got around to installing them now that our baby is getting ready to pull herself up. We installed the straps, but we have no confidence that these will not break if someone were to pull on the TV, the very thing the straps are designed to prevent. The clips that are screwed into the wall are made of cheap plastic. They bend with minor force applied, and will surely snap with greater force. We will be uninstalling these straps and rigging our own solution with bolts in studs. Save yourself the money and the worry, and get something better and safer. Read more

Could have been 5 stars except that the bolts did not fit my Samsung UN48H6350 TV that I purchased from Amazon. The bolts were the right type (M8) but too short, meaning I had to make a trip to the hardware store. Also the plastic ends that attach to the wooden furniture were installed on the straps the wrong way, I had to take them off and rotate them so they would go flush against the wood and match the photo of the installed product. For anyone who has the same TV, the M8 bolts need to be 26mm (approx 1 inch) long. The ones that come with the product are only about 13mm (1/2 inch) long. For mounting to the wooden furniture, if its "hardwood" you should drill holes, otherwise it will be very hard to screw the screws in by hand. I used a 5/64 drill bit but check the diameter of the screws they give you first. Other than all that, looks like a good product. Read more

It’s just what I needed. My girls tv ison an old dresser. It scares me that or might fall as they try to open the drawers. They are old enough that it’s more to protect them and the tv than for a little kid. It does the job I need it for. It’s not the greatest and if you need it so a little kid doesn’t knock it over I recommend something a little heavier duty. My kids are 11 and 14 and this was for a 32” tv. Like I said it works but it was more because the drawers stick and we didn’t want the tv to fall if they had to mess with a drawer. ALWAYS ALWAYS ANCHOR FURNITURE AND TVS. We bought the Kidco Anti-Tip TV Straps as an easy way to ensure our 55" flat screen television didn't accidentally get tipped over from our toddler. She started to walk and go over the tv so to keep her safe we decided to purchase this.I was really surprised how easy the installation was, and it really keeps the tv in place. I tried to pull the tv after and it feels very secure.The straps come with two sets of screws and anchors for the walls and two sets of bolts for the back of the tv. Which is perfect for pretty much most tvs. I only mention that because Some reviews mentions screws being too short or two long. I didn't have any issue with them.Pro: they're great and is good piece of mind.Con: well the only thing I can think of is you better be 100% sure that you know where you want to have the tv in the room. Because if you are someone whom like to rearrange the living room often well prepare to have a bunch of holes on the wall. I used these straps to secure a 55 inch Samsung TV sitting in a built in wall unit. The package contains 2 straps and the necessary mounting hardware. I used my own machine screws to secure the strap to the built in unit. Installation took about 20 minutes, since it is 2 nuts and 2 screws needed for completion. Most of the time was making sure my TV was centered before I committed to drilling holes in the wall.The product itself is a pair heavy weight nylon straps with thick plastic fasteners at the ends. They are more than beefy enough to secure a 55 inch TV. Once installed, my TV sat solidly in place with no chance of titling forward.We retired the straps once we mounted our TV on an articulating bracket on the back wall of our built in unit. This moved are TV slightly higher and farther from my daughter's reach.I would highly recommend these straps if you cannot mount your TV directly to the wall. Read more

There are 3 pairs of screws of different diameters supplied with the straps. These pairs of screws are supposed to attach the top of the strap to the threaded TV mounting holes on the back of various TV sets (the threaded holes on the TV are the ones usually used for wall mounting). Unfortunately none of the screws supplied with these straps were long enough to reach the threaded holes in the back of my 65" Samsung UHD TV. Screw diameter of thickest screw was appropriately threaded for my TV set but not long enough. Therefore I would not recommend it for at least my model of TV. Not worth it for me to go hunting for proper screws. I'll find another way to secure my TV. I actually bought these for earthquake protection but according to the packing it is really designed to keep a toddler from tipping the TV on themselves. These look like a good idea, and then I realized in order to attach them I would have to drill into the tv stand which I wasn't prepared to do. I am very happy with this! It was very easy to install ( screws into the tv holes that are already there then I just had to drill into the tv stand to secure the bottom ) Now when we talk by the tv it doesn't wobble and I don't have to worry about the baby knocking it over! Read more
