I litterly have 25 of these blades that are broken in the same spot . I’ve used this brand for over 10 plus years and last year they break in the same spot . It has to be a manufacturer issue .I'm a professional groomer and I just can’t explain it . I understand if you drop them that happens however as soon as you put a guard on the blade the tooth In the same spot on most of them break . I would love to be contacted. I’m kinda upset ,that’s over 500$ in blades . Read more

As a pro groomer, I only use Andis clippers and blade in my shop. I use the 7 especially for dogs that are severely matted. Andis has a nice guide to show you the blades recommended for certain breeds. Be sure to use their Blade Care and Cooling spray so you don't burn the pet. Blade Care will prolong the life of your blades. Remember the smaller the number of the blade, the longer the fur will be cut. Oil your blades after every use to prolong their life, and wipe the oil off each time before you begin to groom the dog.Clean fur cuts much better than dirty, oily fur. Be sure to comb out all the mats and tangles so your blade doesn't catch and hurt the pet. Read more

Andis clippers and blades used to be some of the best. Unfortunately among groomers like myself, who use them daily, talk is circulating about the quality going down lately. I have noticed the Andis blade teeth chip excessively on newer blades, compared to older blades and other brands. When I use guard combs on the 15 and 30 blades lately ( new combs so in good shape ) the teeth chip almost right away :(. Andis is losing a lot of their market due to this and the plastic blade drives they're now using for clippers. Very disappointing. Read more

Fear kept me from getting the 3-¾ FC blade. I have an Andis two speed clipper,  ProClip Super 2-Speed Detachable Blade Clipper, Professional Animal Grooming, AGC2 (22360)  which came with the size 10 blade that I never use. Instead, I purchased a size 40 blade and two sets of snap-on combs, both large and small sizes.I think that I misjudged how close this blade would come to my Bichon Frise’s skin, based upon the angles of the size 10 and the size 40. Since I am an amateur groomer, my first concern has always been not to cause any injury to my dog. I always envied the plush look that some people were able to give a Bichon’s coat and I was never able to achieve that look with the comb attachments or my inept scissoring.I finally decided to purchase this blade and, to my surprise, it is completely different than the ones that I have been using. The angle is very close to the ½” comb attachment, so I felt comfortable using it. Since this is a finishing blade and I did not purchase the skip tooth blade, I first cut the hair with my usual 40 inch blade and ½” comb. I then went over it with this 3-3/4FC blade. Wow, the difference really made me regret that I didn’t purchase this blade years ago.My Bichon’s hair is so even and plush, even along the sides where I usually have trouble blending the lengths. I am so enthusiastic about this particular blade and recommend it to anyone else on the fence about using a blade without comb attachments. Read more

I know these are not labeled to shear sheep, but they work. I made it through my herd of 6 Shetland sheep and while they were just starting to bog down on sheep number 6, they were sharp enough and made it through. These do cut very close to the skin and I ended up cutting skin a few times due to this. I've used off brands that would only cut one full coat and even then not very close, before they quit and that was only in my poodle. I originally bought these to groom my standard poodle with, but I'm not sure I trust myself with them enough not to cut skin on him too. Nice sharp blade that got the job done. Each sheep took about 20 min and that's not bad at all considering these are not designed for that kind of heavy cutting. I will definitely buy a few more for future use in the flock as these are a lot easier to handle then the giant shearmasters that are for livestock. Read more

We have 3 mini schnauzer. Grooming would be expensive if we took them in. So we bought an Andis clipper and tried a couple different blades for it. Was not liking it very much. We were getting mad at how hard it was to get them cut, it took forever and we almost said @#$% it but decided we would try one more blade. We tried the Size-7 skip tooth and it was perfect! It works great and fast! We do not do a fancy cut or anything as we are not professional groomers. Pretty much all the same length for all the dogs. Quick math 1 dog at the groomers = 40 to 60 $$$ x 3 dogs = forget about it. DIY for LIFE! Read more

OMG! originally bought the and is clippers and also purchased plastic combs to put on the blades. It took absolutely hours to clip the dogs, about four hours actually! It was awful. I'd end up with a sore back and the dogs dreaded clipping time. Eventually, I mean over a year later, I decided to try different blades. Well, my husband clipped our black doodle first - she has a retrieverish type coat and the clipping time more than halved! Weeks later I bit the bullet and used it on our apricot doodle and she has a poodle coat. Well! it took me just over an hour! It was as though she felt better about it too as she didn't do all the pulling away when I was doing her legs, bless! So, absolutely fabulous purchase. Extremely pleased! Just wish I'd done it bloomin ages ago! Read more

Absolutely amazing. Sorry it took me so long to buy. Had bought premium pet clips before at around 60 which were meant to be pro. Fine for my middle aged westie cross who took fright at a groomers one day. However my 18month spaniel x standard poodle has a very soft wavy coat that matts instantly when he plays and very fast growing. Spent a fortune at groomers every 4 weeks! So tried my clippers but they died mid cut. Did some research and bought this set. couldn't believe it really made that much difference. His hair seemed to fall off and he was a happy puppy. I rushed through it as worried about the heat building up but it was great. I had two little few minute breaks while i turned him round, reviewed my handiwork and gave him tweeties for being so good etc and that was plenty of cooling. Do NOT hesitate to buy these and dont waste money on cheaper - its false economy especially if you have anything with poodle in it or anything but the smallest of dogs. A great purchase. I got a 7fc blade as well as the 10 standard with it and for a first try the 7fc was better although i might try and go for a slightly longer blade for winter. Read more

Really disappointed with this blade. It immediately started to tarnish and rust as soon as I started using it. (See photo compared to one I've had for years) It was also very loud and rattley and not very sharp. I've only been using it a short time and it has now stopped cutting. I'm wondering is it even an actual andis blade or a cheap copy. If it is bona fife, then I got a dud. I will definitely be ordering from my usual suppliers next time. Read more

I bought this blade as it cuts nearer to the length I like my Bichons coat to be. The one that came with the clippers cut them very short! So I had to adapt the way that I used that blade by first putting a steel comb through the hair and run the clippers against that, but it does tire your arms out doing it like that. This blade will skim off the longer hair and would go closer still if I held it against their skin! The blades are all very expensive so I can't get the one I really wanted at £35+ Read more

I’ve quite a variety of Andis clipper blades now as I’ve always struggled with our dog’s fine downy hair. The original size 10 with metal magnetic guard kit takes hours to do him. I have to give him a break between sessions. But this time, after reading an article, I tried the No 4 skip blade which leaves a slightly rougher 9.5mm cut. What a difference. It glides through his fur so much easier. It’s reduced his cut time by half. Only downsides are it seams to heat up pretty quickly despite regular drops of oil and you can’t fit the Andis guards to it which means it’s a little bit sharp and is easier to catch him with. I soon got used to it though and with a little more care keeping his skin tight found it very easy compared to the standard No 10 blade that comes with the Andis Andis Ultraedge AGC Super 2 Speed Read more
