I've used this stuff for several years. When I got back on a few weeks ago to buy my next two-pack, I was surprised to see the negative reviews, many of which said that this seems to be a counterfeit, since the color of the packaging is slightly off, the scent is more like a gross hairspray scent (rather than a neutral or slightly pleasant scent that it usually has), and its general inability to function the way it always had. Honestly, I dismissed those reviews, since I have been buying it here for a couple of years at least. Well, I wish I had paid attention. What I know for a fact is that one of the following is true - either American Crew has dramatically changed their product's formula and packaging (and definitely not for the better), or Amazon is selling a counterfeit product here. For the high price of this item, I think most people would agree that it's an indulgence. If you're going to indulge yourself with a high-priced hair product, it should be better than this. I've been using American Crew Forming Creme for a few years now. I usually buy it at the barber shop I go to when I get my hair cut. The price of it has gone up at the barber shop so I decided to order it off here. When I first received it it looked very similar. The only difference I could notice from the outside was a slightly different color label and print on the outside. No big deal. I opened it up and it smelled different than what I usually buy. It smells like hair spry and personally I'm not a fan of hair spray... then as you use the product on your hair it is a much different/ crunchy hold like a gel would be. Finally, some hair cream I can tolerate. I can't tell you how many various different creams, gels, pastes, and pomades I've went through to find a hair product that doesn't make me look like either I just got out of a pool or Donald Trump on a windy day. Essentially, it's been either a choice between firm yet wet-looking gels or natural-looking pastes that have no hold. Fortunately, this cream does both incredibly well. Not only is it rather matte looking, but it holds my hair so unyieldingly that Thor would have a hard time messing it up. I've never used this type of product before. I usually blow dry my hair and hope for the best. However, I now shower almost daily at the gym and don't have access to a hair dryer. I dislike sprays and gels, since they make me look like a Wall Street mogul or the son of the current POTUS. After my shower, I towel dry my hair and rub a SMALL amount of this into my hair and distribute it with my hands, then a brush. I brush my hair back and it stays this way for about any hour. After the hair dries, it gets softer, but still has a noticeable heft or volume. It looks good for most of the day. My only gripe is that when I wake up in the morning, I have to put up with my wife's quips about my morning hair. A damp brush usually gets it looking good again, until my next shower. I've used the American Crew Fiber and Pomade. This product, the "Forming Cream" I would describe as the middle, the perfect balance.My hair is thick, somewhat coarse, yet soft. I wear my hair short, almost like a buzz and usually let it grow longer so that I can comb it over (by longer I'm talking 4-5 inches on the top, sometimes more).What I didn't like about Fiber is that it can be too clay like and usually made my hair too stiff. I found fiber to work best the shorter my hair was, but even then it was a super strong and stiff hold. It was actually working as intended, but not to my liking.What I didn't like about Pomade was the high shine and depending on how much used, greasy feel to my hair. And once again, you buy Pomade for the shine, so working as intended but not to my liking.The forming cream (this product) works awesome. It mixes well into your hands for applying. It's very easy to work with. My hair doesn't look greasy yet stays in place all day. It keeps my hair looking and feeling natural. It blows in the wind yet returns to place when I run my hand through my hair to fix it. It provides hold whether my hair is long or short. Almost no shine, which I prefer, and has a very slight coconut smell. The amount provided in one container will easily last me about a year. For the price, it is well worth it. Will buy again. En effet celui-ci contient du Butylphenyl Methylpropional un allergène dangereux contre la reproduction et jugé non sûr pour une utilisation dans les produits cométiques. Après avoir testé de nombreuses pates, je recommande pleinement celle-ci qui tient très bien tout au long de la journée. Pour des cheveux assez denses et lisses c'est parfait, la pate garde tout bien en place comme on le veut. Beaucoup aiment l'odeur que je n'aime pas particulièrement personnellement (les goutes, les odeurs...). I take very good care of my hair. I tried this fixer and totally regret it.The cream smells absolutely vile. I can smell it all day and will not go out with this stench on me.I have had it three days and it's a total waste of money.If you like to smell nice or prefer a fixer that's for a benign smell then avoid this.I'll have to buy my regular fixer again now.As they say if it's broken then dont fix your fixer.I absolutely can't recommend this fixer.
