These don’t have the most appetizing smell, but it’s not terrible. They are at least smaller than my 00 size capsules. I started taking these because I was turned down to donate blood for low iron. My iron level always seems to be low despite a diet high in meat and legumes. I just had my iron level checked yesterday and it was at a very good percentage. Most people that leave reviews for iron tablets have some sort of anemia. I do not know if I have anemia but I will say this, I am young and I probrably eat more unhealthy food than is recommended. I dont really take care of my body much so I know i do not get my recommended iron for a woman of 23 years old. But after feeling bad for months I decided to start making some chnages. I started taking these and hope they would help me feel healthier, they have. My dark bags under my eyes have visibly faded, my memory has gotten better, and I just feel stronger in general. 18 mg is the recomended dosage of iron for a woman who is non anemic. So these work good for me. If you are anemic then you can double them up too. I had no nausea or any constipation while taking these. I take them with my lunch everyday and will continue to do so. With any supplement you should really do some research before purchasing the products and speak to a doctor. With that said, I've recently started dieting and tracking my nutrients, I've noticed that I was not getting enough iron with my meals so I've opted in to buying this product. From my understanding this product is more for women who are menstruating, or specific use-cases where you were diagnosed with an iron deficiency. Men generally only need 8mg of iron daily, taking too much iron will lead to toxicity as your body will store it.I've bought empty capsules and fill it up with this up to 10-20% and take that instead. I initially didn't find any issues with this product as far as the supplement quality goes. I am writing this review because the bottle itself is faulty. I contacted Amazon about this and they assured me they would remove the product until further evaluation, and here it is still available for people to buy. So Im writing this review to hopefully prevent what happened to me to others. Long story short, the bottle fell from a counter, maybe 3.5 feet high, and the lid just popped off. IT IS NOT A PROPER SAFETY LID. I came home to the vitamins all over the ground. My dog consumed the majority of them which led to Iron poisoning. He almost died, thank god he didn't, but the vet bills were well over $1000. I would also like to point out an entire bag of vitamins fell off the counter of varying brands and the ONLY bottle that busted open was the Amazon Elements one. The other ones are safety lids as described. When I contacted customer service they were very adamant to reimburse me the $12....I told them I could care less about $12 dollars, I just didn't want it to happen to anyone else's animals or children, and they seemed to care less about that.... Praise the lord! I have been struggling with anemia for over 15 years. Never could find a product that worked for me. Everything made me sick. Hematologist tried all kinds of prescription iron as well. Finally had to do intravenous treatments. With my new insurance, I couldn't afford it and desperately needed something, as my iron was dangerously low. Stumbled across these and figured I would give thme a try, thinking they would be kinder on my stomach. No issues whatsoever! I take 3 a day per my Dr.'s instructions, even though the recommended is only one. My blood results show my iron is the highest it has ever been in my adult life. I feel amazing. While hospitalized with sepsis in 2019, my bloodwork revealed that I was anemic. I had a history of anemia as a teen with dizziness, ashen skin, and feeling very faint when standing. It's not fun. I knew it was time to start an iron supplement before I was symptomatic again. Amazon Elements provides the perfect 18 mg of iron. I was having a hard time finding one in my local stores that wasn't a megadose. High doses are murder on sensitive stomachs and usually not necessary. I began taking one capsule every night just before bed with a small orange for the vitamin C absorption. I didn't experience a single episode of stomach pain with this formula and that's something that always occurred when I treated with iron in the past. I'd give it five stars alone for that! I am anemic with low blood pressure and after getting pregnant was advised to take an iron supplement. I have taken them in the past and didn't really notice a difference until about 2 to 3 weeks of consistently taking it. I'm also terrible at remembering to take my supplements so you can imagine the benefit wasn't a sustained one. I decided to try this one after reading reviews about the immediacy of the effect and I'm happy to say that's been true for me as well! I notice the difference the day after taking this, a huge jump from a couple of weeks! I also find less digestive issues with this form of iron, if you catch my drift.
