Felt compelled to write a review as a few I read mentioned concern over lack of seal. I ordered late June 2020. The bottle came enclosed in a plastic bag. There was a piece of tape across the lid to help keep it from opening (similar to tamper evident seals used in pharmacies). Finally, the lid had to be unscrewed to remove a seal on the bottle, which was rather persistent. So I have no concern for adulteration. Of course the question of "what's in it?" is truly always unknown to some degree so I don't really get those other folks' comments. There's minimal fragrance really. There is camphor, oil of lavender and oil of rosemary, so there is a scent which is pleasant and I would consider these therapeutic as well. Fortunately my itchiness has subsided mostly, so I cannot rate efficacy, but the value was certainly great relative to comparable products. Applied easily and comfortably, not runny. Read more

I was visiting and mistakenly stepped on a fire ant hill. Immediately it felt like an explosion on my leg, next thing I knew was fire ants everywhere on my leg; including in my sock and in my tennis shoe. I ended up with many fire ant stings or bites or whatever they are from my calf to my ankle. I became very itchy, blistered, red and swollen. Every morning after a shower I poured rubbing alcohol on the sores, then when it dried I applied this lotion. The lotion took away the burning and the itch. Oldie but Goofy! Must Have! Was going out of my mind from multiple bites, including clusters! So Tormented I'd scratch a new bite, only to Reactivate ITCHING on surrounding bites that were almost healed! Do Not be put off by thin lotion. I found best to apply with fingertip to each bites. Stays on for hours providing relief and helps dry out. Would reapply for the few bites that still itched. Have been trying Everything! This stopped the Itching Cycle! Used to use for Poison Oak contact dermatitis. It is a Winner! Do yourself a favor, use bug bombs if you're getting eaten alive! I kept waiting because I have indoor cat a d rabbit. I just received the Amazon medicated calamine lotion and was expecting it to have some sort if safety seal but it doesn't. How can I be sure it has never been opened before I put it on my kids' body? I bought Solima Calamine Lotion for the first time several months ago. Very happy. But when my bottle became empty, I tried many different kinds of brands from my local stores.But...I was always disapointed. Only water came out, even after shaking. I tried to let it settle, and then squirted the water out until the lotion showed up. This didn't even work.I wound up throwing many almost-full bottles out.
