I'm at the tail end of the first week of switching to the Alvababy pocket diapers. We have only had once instance of poop coming out, and that was when my husband changed a diaper on day two. I doubt it was a diaper issue to be honest. They are super absorbent. My son does eliminate OFTEN, so we go through so many diapers. It has definitely been the more affordable route. We have a supply of 60 diapers. We have already had to wash two loads in one week. I'm so happy with our decision to make the switch. For his first month, we spend about $100 in disposables. I watched so many videos and read so many articles before deciding on the brand to use. I'm happy with the choice to use Alvababy.My recommendation is to watch as many YouTube videos as you can to make sure that you know what you're getting into as far as the work to keep up with them, wash them, and care for them. My mom got me AlvaBaby diapers for my baby shower. I loved them so much I ordered 12 more. Very stylish. Customizable absorbency—I single stuffed for the first few weeks as baby was about a month old and not a heavy wetter yet. Now at two months, I stuff the diapers by adding a microfiber insert (Alva baby) and then the charcoal bamboo. I like these way better than Charlie Banana (easier to customize). Bumgenius is nice, but expensive. These diapers have held blowouts that disposables would not have handled. We used disposables for the first month as she was too small to fit and she started to develop a diaper rash. Went away as soon as we switched to cloth and we have not had a problem since. My husband likes these better than Charlie banana also.Very cost effective, excellent absorbency that can be customized by adding more inserts, and very cute. A great brand! I purchased these for my daughter’s baby and she states that the quality is excellent. She has other cloth diapers from different brands which pales in comparison to this brand’s quality. She uses them with her newborn and for her toddler. Her babies have sensitive skin and disposable diapers give them rashes. These cloth diapers do not! They’re so, cute, and most importantly, they don’t leak!! Read more

I really enjoy these diapers. They are extremely cute!I've never used cloth diapers before. Alvababy was my first attempt at cloth diapers. I've been using them for about a month or so and no blow outs or leaks, like he was having with disable diapers.The first night my son did pee through in the middle of the night about 6 hours in with the charcoal bamboo inserts. When I double them one inside the pocket and on lying on top, he sleeps through all 11-12 hours of the night no problem to wake ups, and no leaks.So far these diaper work amazingly, they have sold me on doing cloth diapers! I wanted to like Alva diapers so badly - they’re just so adorable. The prints offered by Alva are superior to all other cloth diapering brands in my opinion. Unfortunately, they leak. A lot. I bought bamboo inserts to use instead of the supplied microfiber ones and they STILL leak after 30 minutes to 1 hour. They only way they don’t leak is if you double stuff the diapers and that creates A LOT of bulk. Bulk is okay at night but I’m not a fan of that much during the day - especially not when baby is learning to crawl and walk. Also, I after cloth diapering for 8 months, I’ve discovered that I much prefer covers and prefolds/inserts to pocket diapers and inserts - Covers leak way less than pocket diapers because covers don’t have gussets with fabric lining. Unfortunately I’ll need to try to sell my pocket diapers used and will lose a lot of money in so doing. I plan to keep some to use for potty training but that’s about it. Would not recommend pocket diapers or Alva Baby diapers for a full stash. Read more

The absorbency of the charcoal inserts is zero to none it is also advertised as 5 layer and when I cut into it it only has 3. The diaper feels wet in the outside as soon as the baby pees with the charcoal inserts it brings. So do not expect for the cover to not make all your baby clothes wet 😒🤦🏽‍♀️. The prints are cute tho 🤷🏽‍♀️ but I dont think thats the most important part. Read more

I am impressed by the quality of materials, strong -good quality snaps, soft absorbing pads, inner lining is supple, and Bold color patterns.Will take me a little practice to figure out layering of pads for adjusting absorbency but overall very pleased with these diapers...Haven’t yet performed cleaning on this product as I have only used them for one day...but I anticipate them being very easy to clean.
