I live in northern alaska....this time of year the sun does not go down except maybe an hour or two. I have tired several others....this one so far is the best. its soft...it allows eye freedom ...like blinking eyes and some say because of that allows more REM sleep etc. Others have posted that it has a buckle that is irritating for side sleepers. I am a side sleeper. I also wear glasses so any irritation near my ears is no biggy for me and i did not notice.. The past two nights I have slept great. Im actually gonna order another as sometimes i am on the road to go fishing/hunting etc...and i sleep in my rig sometimes. Many hotels up here dont have black out curtains. Best sleep mask ever lol. It is very soft and comfortable. It has an adjustable band and tells everyone that thinks they are going to wake to leave you the hell alone. it arrived in it's own little bag. I don't use it but it was a nice presentation.It fits nicely and does have the adjustable band. It covers the eyes comfortably. One really nice thing about this very soft, very dark, well fitting, and and inexpensive mask is that it doesn’t use latex in the elastic strap around the back of the head, the ears, and the temples.Lately I’ve unfortunately developed a kind of allergy to latex which makes my skin itch. My work schedule frequently demands that I sleep during daylight hrs, and with a bunch of houseplants it’s a hassle to cover the windows all the time. Thankfully, I’ve been trying sleep masks out, and so far this Alaska Bear sleep mask has been both the most comfortable for my face shape and effective at blocking light. I’m a side sleeper, and I noticed that some of the bulkier sleep masks on the market are easier to sleep with if you sleep on your back, but I had difficulty getting comfortable with them as a side sleeper. I've tried many different sleep masks, and this one is the best one overall. None of them are perfect as far as keeping light out 100%, but this one comes the closest. It's very soft, comfortable and adjustable for a good fit. One reviewer mentioned the little metal part being a problem as they could feel it against their head when sleeping on their side. Being a side sleeper myself, I tried very hard to replicate that feeling, but couldn't. The metal piece is very small and flat. It's no problem for me.
