Once you use this, you'll never go back to other relaxers. You're never supposed to relax the part that's not new growth, but add protector (sold separately) and my hair has been growing and growing, whether I do or not. When I first used this, my hair had broken off to the point that I could not get my hair around the tube of a curling iron. I needed to do a few other things, including fermadyl (sp.?) but my point is, when I relax my hair now, it's healthy. No hair shows on my comb, there's no breakage at all. You need to buy the neutralizing shampoo and the re constructor shampoo/positive link separately too. The conditioning shampoo and creme last a long time, depending on the length of your hair. If you relax your hair, but suffer breakage and / or brittle hair after your treatment, please try this product. Never will I go back to an OTC relaxer kit. I'm just mad I'm just learning of the Keracare / Affirm product line.After having issues with breakage I tried everything. Thinking it was living in a dry/desert climate I tried all kinds of moisture rich treatments - nothing helped. Then I stopped being a cheapskate and invested in the Keracare. Best money ever spent. Then I found this relaxer love and the reviews were great. Yes it's a bit pricey for everything needed but promise you it's cheaper than one trip to a salon and this is 4 applications. Really love this product! Left my hair feeling really soft! Best product out on the market for relaxing purposes. Left it on for more than the directed time, and surprisingly I didn’t not itch once! Neither did I get burned. Actually felt like I should have stayed even longer than I did for a straighter outcome, but overall it’s a really great product and I love it. Dnt think I’ll be using any other relaxers from now on, because this is by far the best product I’ve found for sensitive skin! (I have really thin hair!) was scared I was gonna get burned, because I even have a few new balding spots in the middle of my hair but I couldn’t even tell I was getting a perm, because it wasn’t irritated!
