This works great to negate MOST noises EXCEPT MY RUDE UPSTAIRS NEIGHBOR 😡. The white noise turned up as loud as possible next to my ears cannot cancel the mother and 10 year old son upstairs neighbor. I have to turn on the Lectro White Noise Loudest Setting and Volume, the dishwasher, washing machine, dryer AND hybrid hot water tank and I can STILL HEAR THEM. The machine does cancel out all other neighbors sounds so I use it for peace and tranquility while upstairs neighbor isn't at home.If purchasing to cancel rude upstairs neighbor, the machine can't do that. If purchasing for other reasons like nursery or cancel out typical neighbor sounds, highly recommend.We've lovingly named our upstairs neighbors Schizophrenic Poltergeists (as they are awake by 7AM and stay awake til 2:40 AM the next day 😐) who have an elephant stampede, Poltergeist My 700 Lbs Life And filming crew-our only explanation for all the pacing thudding, shaking walking we hear, Olympic hallway distance training track, Collegiate rowing team and bowling team training center, sawing construction worker training facility, Tropical Thunderstorm Sound Stage, Toilet Lid Slamming and Technique Facilty (we have their potty schedules down to a P & BM), and Dexter's Female Dippleganger although she hasn't figured out Dexter's method to lighten the dead bodies weights and carries them as far as she can before dropping them on our ceiling THUD, BAM. I really, really wish I could give this product 5 stars. Our family lives in West Africa for 10 months out of the year and then visits the United States for 2 months each summer, so the global power option was definitely a draw. The product came with 3 different electrical plugs that was perfect for our needs. We also experience frequent power outages in Africa so we were excited to find a noise machine that could be used with a battery pack if needed. The product is compact and the noise options are fantastic. Unfortunately, this little machine has a mind of it's own and turns on by itself all the time! We bought two noise machines at the same time. One of them won't turn off - it basically turns itself right back on as soon as you push the power button. The other machine will turn itself on and off once or twice a day but stays off most of the time. We have very small children so we try to hide plug-ins, so it's a pain to unplug it and re-plug it every day. It's either that or live with constant white noise all day long. We aren't in the United States long enough to replace it, so we'll probably just have to live with what we got. For how expensive these noise machines were we didn't expect to have this issue. I have used the other big brand for over 15 years and thought I would never use anything else. Other sound machines sound thinner and does not fill the room quite like it- as it has a little fan. However the biggest problem is that it IS a fan.. with MOVING parts that have started to rattle over time. It’s happened to a good share of them for me. My husband would even try to take it apart (very) carefully to dust and oil the blades for it to run smoother. It will BUT not for long.I had been eyeballing the LectroFan for a while- as I was intrigued by all the fantastic reviews. Well. they arn’t lying! I will now be a customer for life!!!! After using an app on my phone for so long I decided to invest in this. After seeing Lou on the ‘Unbox Therapy’ YouTube channel review this I knew I needed one. Sleep is priority what with the hectic lifestyles we lead nowadays. And this helps so much with my sleep and not only my sleep but 10 weeks old daughter as well. Silence is deafening and this drowns that out perfectly. Bit pricey compared to some other offerings on amazon but as the age old saying goes “you get what you pay for” and this is worth every penny! The volume control not great to work as you have to press it in just the right place which is hard to get right all of the time. Great sound, but would be an extra weight in your luggage if travelling especially if you only take cabin luggage. However love it as it does the job. Noisy neighbours. Read more

I bought this because I bought a cheaper one which broke within a week of use. I really like the noises, it has a range of volumes and sounds to pick from. Helps me stay asleep as i live in a noisy shared house. Would definitely recommend. Read more

A very basic but highly effective white noise machine. The background noises (or your impression that there are backfround noises) at night simply disappear and the white noise emitted by the machine puts you to sleep like a baby. Read more
