I bought the brushed nickle 10x magnification model for my wife. We already had an really unlit cheap Ikea one that sort of worked but she saw a mirror like this at a hotel in Vegas and said she wanted one like that.The 10x magnification is very powerful but you have to keep your face about 1-2 inches away from it otherwise it will go out of focus. She likes that, I do not. I can't see any hair on my ears as it's too far away from my face. As turn to see my ears, it all goes out of focus as it's too far away. The focal area is very narrow. I probably should have gone with the 7x's magnification as it would have opened up the field of view slightly.My wife really likes it though. She plucks her eyebrows and some clear facial hairs and this thing shows EVERYTHING.Mounting it was fairly easy. There are (3) screws in triangular formation that hold the mounting plate to the wall and then the mirror screws down on top of the mounting plate.I was hoping to find a wall stud behind my drywall bathroom walls for at least one of the screws but there were no studs where we wanted to put it. The wall screws come with seemingly sturdy plastic screw anchors. I used a 1/4" drill bit for the pilot hole and lightly tapped the anchors in with a hammer. The screws seemed to bite well and the mounting plate didn't move at all. I hand turned the small screws that connected the mirror to the mounting plate as they flex the plate a bit.Once it was installed, it seems pretty sturdy.I did have to loosen the arms on the mirror as they were VERY tight and that could lead to pulling too much on the wall. A large flat head can easily turn the screw at the base of each joint of the mirror so it moves easier. YMMV. Read more

I had the silver Gurun mirror that was 'as advertised'; including the cord and two light levels. This mirror says two light levels, which is why I purchased and the questions on line say to just turn it off and on again to get to a second light level. That did not work and further down the reviews, it says 'oh, we changed our design, so not all mirrors have two light levels'. I'm farsighted, so I like to use a mirror with powerful magnification to do things like remove my contact lenses. Previously, I had a great 10X lighted makeup mirror which cost considerably less than this mirror, but provided a clear, distortion-free image. Unfortunately, it got broken when my bathroom was being remodeled, so I needed a replacement, and ordered this one, but the 10X magnification was horribly distorted. Beautiful light fixture. I’m redoing bath with black fixtures but this rubbed oil bronze is the closest to black I could find. It will have to do. The 3 light settings are great (each time you turn it one it goes to the next setting (warm, daylight & cool). Super 10x magnification. It’s very heavy to be sure to properly mount it. Read more

I bought this for my wife and I am sure she is going to like it.I just installed it (as a surprise). Here are my few issues: 1) the installation instructions are picture only (like IKEA) except for "SAFETY NDTES" (sic). Not that that is a bad thing, just sayin'. One part of the instructions indicates, "The enclosed screws and dowels are only suitable for concrete." I found this funny as how many concrete bathroom walls are there out there? Plus, the screws sure looked like wood screws to me. 2) The power cord is long and there is no way of shortening it. My plug-in is only 12" from the mirror and that means I have about 12" extra inches of cord.Installers: This mirror is heavy and I am not sure that the three screws using the anchors will hold very long. I suggest finding a wall stud. Good luck!If I were to buy it all over again, I would have looked for a mirror that has an adjustment power cord. But that is ONLY from my standpoint as the installer. This mirror is 10X magnification. Not like the cheaper ones that can readily be bought in department stores. One side is a regular mirror. The 10X side has a light. It really helps to see everything, whether you want to or not. But remember to get up close - that is a few inches from the mirror. I love it. Read more

I searched through numerous high-priced brands and reviews before taking a chance on this. So glad I did! Perfect size, magnification, and since a plug in version—works every time. The LED light can be a little dim, but isn’t overwhelming. I use other bathroom lights to supplement when I want additional brightness. So glad I didn’t spend more than twice the amount for ones with bad reviews. I highly recommend this version if you want to plug in. Read more

The mirror is beautiful and the bronze matches my bathroom fixtures. It was easy to install, but make sure you attach to wood studs as drywall would not last (It is very heavy). The light is a real DISAPPOINTMENT, it is like a night light. Unless you have other bright lights in your bathroom, this light will not give you enough light to see. I am going to see if I can purchase a brighter light to go with this. Read more
