I've heard using silk or silky material for pillowcases and hair accessories keeps hair from experiencing [as much] breakage because silk does not tug or pull, nor will it draw moisture from hair. To test this, in recent months, I've acquired a few silk pillowcases and hair ties.I like to wear my thin fine locks in a messy bun most days, and I sleep with my hair down at night. I wash it every few days, prolong with dry shampoo, and don't heat style much. My hair isn't damaged. I don't suffer from any scalp conditions like psoriasis or dandruff.My hair is just naturally limp and lifeless. Even if I don't do much with it, I want my hair to be healthy. After using silk products for a few months, I have noticed a lessening in breakage. I hadn't changed much else in my routine, so I think the silk ties and pillowcases have made the difference.I wanted to give this 8-pc Set of (Giftable for Bridesmaids) Silk Scrunchies (7 black, one white) a try since I have stretched out most of my others and needed new ones. Unfortunately for me, I think these would work better for someone who has medium to thick hair. These, for me, are either too loose are too tight, depending on what I'm trying to do. Again, my hair is naturally thin, flat, and long (below shoulders). If I take one of these smooth, silky scrunchies and try to twist it into a basic ponytail, two loops aren't enough to hold it, and three is too tight. If I bundle my locks into a bun, two turns are ok. Still, I'm stuck frequently adjusting and fixing falling hair when I use these pretty silky ties.Just because this is my experience does not mean they won't work for others. I think my hair type and thickness have more to do with it than the make of the scrunchie. Silk is naturally slippery, and the tie band sewn inside feels small, stretchy, and sturdy. There are seven green-colored scrunchies and one white scrunchie. The material is like a satin, so it is a bit slick which increases the chance these will slip out of the hair. I have medium length hair in the back and they did slip out easily if I pulled on them. I do feel these are attractive but low-end. If the bride and bridesmaids all have long hair, then these are a decent option. The current price of $13.99 comes to a slightly pricey $1.75 each. For the quality of these scrunchies, I do not feel these should be priced more than $1.25 each. Read more
