Some days, just looking down from the lift at the trails you're about to ride is enough to make you glad you put all of your body armor on. But other days, the decision can be much less clear. Throw 7 Protection's Flex Body Protector into your big day rotation and you'll have the option to adapt your armor to fit whatever's in store for any given ride. With fixed chest padding, the Flex will always provide you with some cushion during unexpected spills, but it also comes with removable spine and shoulder protection for the days you know you'll be doing things you might not get away with cleanly. The padding hardens upon impact and was designed to meet CE mountain bike safety standards. Conveniently, the pocket used to accommodate the spine protection also fits a two-liter hydration bladder, so you can skip the backpack on the days you hit the trails for an endurance ride. As a finishing touch, 7 Protection integrated four rear pockets and a center back pocket into the Flex to give you more than enough room to stash bonk-preventing grub and any other ride essentials.

This thing is amazing! It fits perfectly, it is not that that uncomfortable as these things usually are.. A bit pricey but soooo worth it. My only complaint is that it offers absolutely no protection for your ribs... Too bad cause it would've been perfect. Today I took a hard hit and guess what... I've got a bruised rib because it had no protection there. 7idp is a new brand for me but I absolutely love it. Bought everything 7idp...the transition knee pads and elbow pads, helmet, and this which can say that it absolutely blows my mind with the quality! Read more

Very well made, great attention to detail. The large size fit perfectly (42" Chest, 6'2") and the rear pockets are very convenient. The stitching and seams are strong and the material feels light, but sturdy. The 7iDP padding is on par with the D30 impact armor used by other manufacturers. My only complaint is that the spine armor could be longer to protect more of the lower lumbar vertebrae. It does do a good job of protecting the lower cervical (neck) and thoracic (rib) vertebrae. I had one mishap recently and landed on my right shoulder which had already been separated once before. It protected me so well, I barely felt a thing...quickly got up and laughed it off with my riding crew. Worth every penny just for that one incident. Read more

Best supplemental piece of gear I’ve bought for DH/Park days. I ordered L (I’m 5’9” 170lbs). Fits great. Other than the small shoulder pads you don’t even know you’re wearing it. No crashes yet but it adds a comfortable layer of protection. Read more

Was going to be a Father’s Day gift. Took 3 weeks to arrive. Too late, so sent back. However, seemed to be a nice product, lightweight with excellent back protection. A little lacking in claivlcle and ribs. 2 additional stars off for shipping fiasco. Read more
