I would like to amend the review I previously submitted. The seller has very promptly graciously addressed all my concerns. The ice pack needs to be frozen to pass through TSA or packed in checked baggage. I did not freeze it because I had used all my medication. The mistake is on me. I bought this cooler to take Trulicity "pens" on a 2 week cruise. The cooler I got will barely hold 2 doses because the trulicity needles are individually assembled with needle and medication and larger than vials of insulin. I barely got through TSA enroute to our Port of embarkation and evidently it was only because my medication was labeled on each one. Coming back my gel pack was confiscated by our "wonderfully" vigilant TSA agent in Montreal making my container worthless for other trips. Maybe it wouldn't have happened if I had kept the used needles??? Though the product appears to be well made, travelling with it can be quite difficult. Read more
FROZE AND RUINED INSULINBought product to take on vacation to protect insulin from heat. Instead it froze and ruined multiple insulin pens - both long and short acting. I followed the included directions on how to use it but it didn’t work properly.I would give this product 0 stars if possible as finding replacement insulin is not a good time and expensive on vacation. Liked this cool tube kept my trulicity fridge cold for 30 hours while travelling to to Europe.Not happy with the cool gel. This distorted on freezing and expanded into the storage area. I am happy to find I can fit 3 Humira pens (which are big nearly an inch wide x 7” long) in here with the cooling bottle.Just brought it for plane and in case of power outages but much more at ease knowing I have this. Read more
This is a very good product that will keep insulin pens cool for a long time. But I highly doubt I’d be able to get 7 pens inside it with the gel case that takes up half the canister. I think I might be able to put 4 (maybe 5?) insulin pens crammed into it. But that’s still pretty good.Definitely read the instructions on how to handle chilling the gel case as it says to let it thaw for an amount of time before putting anything next to it (so the medication doesn’t freeze). Just before the flight I have tried to fit 7 no of insulin pen inside the case but failed, it is hardly fit 5 pen . Finally I had to leave 2 pen in USA which will really very unfortunate for a diabetic patient as this are very especial medication for me . I must return back to USA one month before my schedule time because of this.I have not noticed earlier as I know Amazon never make mistake and specially this type of product which carries life saving drug .
