I usually do not write reviews to products on Amazon, but this one deserves, well so far. I am a retired engineer and have cancer meds that cannot get below 8C. Needless to say, travel can be trying making sure my meds are safe and ice is just messy and maybe at most 48 hours worth. International travel is particularly challenging with possible flight delays, etc. When I got this product I immediately put it through the test using the USB cooling option. I needed to know. Well, it did exactly as advertised, cooled down to 2C from 25C (right out of pkg. from Amazon van) in about 45 minutes. Maintained between 2C & 4C with the best part, minimal heat generated from the unit. Yes, it is a tad bulky, but TSA approved and worth every penny to keep life saving drugs. Read more
This unit is really made for long distance traveling. I bought this unit to store my 2 vials of allergy shots for traveling from the US to Thailand. When I left home from Wisconsin to Chicago I plugged the unit to USB outlet in my car. Once I arrived at the airport I switched to my powerbank 22000 mah. I went through security just fine. I told the security officer that i had refrigerated medicine and they didn’t ask any question. They just ran it through the X-ray machine. No problem at all. Once I got on the plane I plugged it in the usb outlet. There was time the usb outlet stopped working which I had no idea why so I used my travel adaptor and plugged it in outlet on the plane then it worked again. I traveled multiple flights before I got to Thailand. Then I had to quarantine (Covid entry requirement) at the hotel for 1 more night and I just left this plugged on the wall. Once I got to my home in Thailand I left it plugged in on the wall for 1 more night before I brought the medicine to the doctor office. Total time from the beginning of my journey to the doctor office in Thailand was about 60 hrs. Even my doctor in Thailand was impressed about the unit. The vials stayed cold the whole time. Before I left the US I tested 2 of my powerbanks. The 22000mah last 18 hrs. The 15000mah last about 12 hrs. I brought both of them on the plane just in case. On the way back to the US I brought the vials back with me with no problem. The fan unit hummed a little but nothing to be annoyed by. I think its because I used it for a long time but it kept going. Overall very happy with the unit. Another note: if you travel to another country, make sure to bring your own travel adaptor. The adaptor that came with the unit although it said 110-240v but it didn’t work on the plane and in Thailand. I had to use my own travel adaptor. Read more
Like anybody with diabetes, traveling with insulin is always worrisome. Will it get too warm. Will it freeze. How long can it go without a fridge.I’ve traveled cross country with this twice now. Once by plane and once by car. Went through TSA just fine. Used a battery pack and ran it all day with no problems. Kept my insulin the perfect temp. Also took it on a drive. Used the car usb while driving and battery pack overnights.Again, performed flawlessly.I would recommend silicone insulin vial covers just because it’s all metal and the vials clinking into stuff made me nervous for breakage. Otherwise great.I fit 2 pens and 3 vials in it at once. Plenty of insulin for a trip. Read more
Easy to use and keeps medications cool...better than any other product I've tried. The gel pack keeps things cool for over 1/2 a day. The electric cooler works as long as plugged in and then keeps items cool another 2-4 hours after being unplugged. Great for long-haul flights when there is a plug by your seat; or the flight attendants will plug it in for you. I've no complaints. The customer service is very helpful and responsive. This product is well worth the price. Read more
First, Maria at 4ALLFAMILY is fantastic! I ordered the Classic model cooler and ran into a space issue due to my uniquely sized medication bottle. Maria worked with me to come up with a solution in combining the Classic cooler with the Nomad biogel so my meds fit in the cooler and stayed at the required temp! This company has top of the line customer support! Both the Classic and Nomad coolers are solid and performed wonderfully in temperature tests at keeping my meds cool! Aesthetically, the Nomad is my favorite – it has a glossy finish that I particularly love! I’ll definitely be using this model on a daily basis to transport my meds. Highly recommend both of these coolers for cooling medications and traveling (I declared at the airport and had no issues going through checkpoints). Read more
I was seeking an effective way to keep insulin at refrigerated temps while traveling by air and came across 4allfamily. Ice packs in an insulated lunchbox was my primary method prior to purchasing this product. That method doesn't work for long. When considering door-to-door travel time (check-in, flight time, arrival to destination), my insulin usually is no longer at refrigerator temps by arrival. This product changed that.My first use was a brief domestic trip, 1 hour flight. I only used the biogel/regular lid, as it was effective for the flight time. About 3-4 hours elapsed between packing my insulin in the cooler and getting to my hotel where I could then store the insulin in a mini fridge. The insulin was still cold upon arrival.Important note: Please remember that you have to re-freeze the biogel ice pack at some point before returning. The hotel room I stayed in did not have one. I tried putting the cooler/ice pack in the mini fridge as an alternative but that is not an effective substitute.Service is fantastic. The 4allfamily team is responsive and receptive to feedback and customer needs. I've offered my feedback on product weight/size and they were highly receptive to that. I'm looking forward to future generations of their coolers. Read more
