We have had the Lion hamper for 3 years now and it's held up great, we love it and have no complaints. We ordered a new one for our second child, it arrived several days ago and disappointed doesn't even begin to describe it. I'm not sure if something went very wrong with how this one was made or if 3 Sprouts has changed the design. By far the worst part is the bottom is made of mesh, just mesh. It's not even tightly woven mesh. God forbid you put anything damp or wet in the basket, it will certainly get all over the floor, you minus well just put the wet items directly on the floor. The other glaring issue is when folded down, the opening is so small you wouldn't be able to fit cloths larger than 12M size through it. I feel like these are, or at least, should be, designed to last for several years of use. An opening of a more appropriate size is necessary or that. If this is truly the new design, don't waste your money. 3 Sprouts normally has smart and thought out designs, I'm not sure what happened here. Read more

Why on earth would this company change their design!? I have two of these I bought two years ago with canvas bottoms and a larger opening at the top. NOW the bottom is made of loose mesh (which causes it to stand funny) and I don’t even want to know how it would look once it’s full of clothes your trying to drag or carry to the washing machine. And don’t even think about using it for toys. I not only purchased these for myself but I’ve also purchased them as baby shower gifts in the past. They were great for putting other gifts inside the hamper and using it as the gift bag. No longer. I bought this one with the intention of bringing to a shower full of gifts but now with this mesh bottom that will hold little weight it’s going back. I have a feeling the company changed their design for supposed safety reasons. Why else would they ruin a perfectly good design. I saw in the reviews that someone said their baby got “trapped in the hamper” and they were acting like the child could have been injured. Not sure how the old design could ever harm a child..Too bad because I would have bought more when mine need replaced and probably one for any babyshowers I attend in the future.Bring back old design! I own 2 of these hampers now, the one I purchased in 2014 is wonderful (5 stars), but the one I purchased this year (2017) for my 2nd child is just 3 stars. They've updated the design to include a mesh bottom and they've shrunk the holes that the create handles. The mesh bottom is inferior because its eliminated some of the stability. My 2014 model with the full fabric bottom still stands nicely upright and holds its shape. The newer model will not stand as upright and is less sturdy because of the mesh, this is problematic when I toss clothes to it and it immediate topples over - which leads to the issue of the smaller holes. When you fold down the "handles" the larger holes/handles on the original create a great opening to toss clothes in, on the newer model the smaller holes make it especially hard to toss or even just drop clothes in, which means you have to leave the handles up to create a bigger opening, but this actually makes it even less sturdy. I've never seen a hamper with a mesh bottom! This is supposed to be for kids. How am I supposed to put soiled or wet clothes in this without the floor becoming wet or dirty underneath! Really want to return but I've already used it! Read more

The product design has changed. The hamper arrived in packaging that stated new and improved. The changes have actually lowered the quality and stability of the hamper. The bottom was the same canvas material as the sides which allowed rigidity and the hamper to stand. Now it is just a mesh bottom and no added flexible metal or plastic piping to create the support necessary. They removed the reinforcement material at the handles that prevented crushing. Why would you do this?!? Overall the product became cheaper in quality and I’m incredibly disappointed. Read more

Love this hamper! We have three children and have used a number of various styles of hamper, and this is my favorite for the kids! Sturdy canvas structure, cute characters and colors, handles for carrying to and from the laundry room, and the handles fold down to make a hole in the top that kids can use to fill the hamper on their own (my older kids like making a game out of that). It's been a couple of months now since we got the goat style and I definitely recommend it. We actually ended up buying the deer and octopus styles for our two older kids because we liked it so much! I have to be honest and say I did not carefully read the materials when I bought this hamper but since I have gotten a previous one a few years ago made out of a strong cotton canvas I assumed this would be made of the same material and added to cart without entering into the description page. Well, to my surprise when I got this it felt like a cheap basket that could easily break and not stand being in a kids room where it would get dragged and tossed when they are playing. 3 Sprout should not even make this cheap version and stick to the one made out cotton canvas. This is my 2nd hamper. The first two was the Swan and the lion both b of which had a canvas bottom, which I like. The bear hamper that I just received has a MESH bottom which I don't like and would not have ordered if I knew this. Besides the bottom mesh, it is a great hamper. I can only use for storage though because I don't want dirty clothes touching the floor. I'm disappointed it was not clear the bottom was made of mesh. Read more

I have three of these now for our kids rooms; a goat, an octopus and now the penguin. They have changed the design of the bag since I brought the first two. They have given it a mesh bottom, which means it stands up less well and although it may let laundry ‘breathe’, I dont really want to put in clothes that have been sicked up on or peed on by the baby in it, as it sits on a carpet and I would rather the carpet was better protected, as with the old design. I wash the clothes in it relatively quickly (and very occasionally wipe down the bottom of it), so have never had an issues with the ‘less breathable’ old design. The second change is that the hole to put clothes through is definitely smaller, which just means it’s harder to throw clothes into it. So while I love the designs and the brand, I am less keen on these changes! Read more

Ich habe bereits einige (7 oder 8) 3 Sprouts Artikel zuhause, deswegen kann ich den Korb ganz gut bewerten denke ich :)An sich ist der Wäschekorb 'Krake' niedlich gearbeitet, wie alle Produkte. Der Aufdruck sieht hübsch aus und die Größe ist auch ok. Allerdings haben wir bereits den 'Löwen' seit ca. 2 Jahren daheim und offenbar wurden die Produkte überarbeitet. Der Löwenkorb hat einen festen geschlossenen Boden, was von Vorteil ist, da nichts umkippen kann. Dieses netzartige Modell (wofür auch immer so ein Quatsch eingearbeitet wurde, anstatt es so zu lassen (!)) fällt nun sehr leicht um, wenn sich keine Wäsche drin befindet. Es soll der Durchlüftung dienen... Aha, wenn das Teil also auf dem Boden steht - was es ja immer tut - wird die Schmutzwäsche besser durchlüftet (was man ja unbedingt möchte...) - wie soll das gehen? Ebenso waren die Löcher für den Einwurf der Schmutzwäsche beim Vorgänger viiiiiel größer; jetzt passt nur noch Babywäsche durch oder man muss es eben immer ganz öffnen. Auch hier wurde etwas zuvor gut Durchdachtes wieder verschlechert. Bin enttäuscht, aber habe ihn dennoch behalten, weil ich den Vorgänger wohl nicht mehr finden werde. Schade :( Read more

The way the images are set up online, you think the design will be all the way around the hamper, ie. there will be four. Not so, there are two images. Either you get one where the design is on the side OR you get one where the design is beneath the handles. I got the latter. It's a good size, nice design and collapses flat when not in use. Good product. I was looking for a laundry hamper for my toddler's room. It is just the right size. The functionality of the handles folding down into an opening is ingenious and my little one likes putting his dirty clothes in to it. I'm not too sure about the mesh bottom but I guess it allows for air circulation. Read more

I bought this while I was still pregnant to match other lion/Leo related items for my August Leo baby and it remains one of my favourite baby items in our room. Great laundry bag, perfect for keeping my baby’s clothes separate to mine and my partner’s, handy and lightweight to carry from bedroom to kitchen where washing machine is to organise laundry loads and my 4 month old loves the large lion picture and chatters away to it lol Read more
