I wanted to post a review to give others an idea of what the back side of the clips look like and get idea how much hair each will hold. The lines in the photos are in one inch increments. The first photo shows the front of the clips, the second shows the back. As you can see, the ones on the left and the top 3 in the middle row all have clips that are around 2 to 2.5 inches which will work for me. I have thick hair and I usually pull the front half up and secure it in the back with a clip and a 2 inch clip will do this. The two bottom clips in middle row are only about 1.25 inches which would work for people with thinner hair or pulling your hair to the side The ones in the right hand row, would work for holding only a small amount or very thin hair. For the money these are fine but the description is deceiving. They are listed as metal, and while the actual clip parts are in fact metal all the decorative parts of the barrettes are actually made from plastic. No one will know but I would have preferred the barrettes be completely made of metal and if they aren't the materials should say metal & PLASTIC Read more

While very pretty, there is no where that states these clips are just plastic. For the price I paid I was expecting small metal clips. What a disappointment. These do not hold well and tend to slide out of my hair. Maybe a better description should be printed letting others know what they are getting. Read more

I have dark brown hair and love the way these clips look. If you’re looking for contrast, these aren’t for you. Also, they don’t come in pairs. I ordered a second set so I could have matching pairs. I just got them so I don't know about the longevity of the product, but they are exactly what I wanted. All the clips are in good functioning order and although the clipping mechanic isn't particularly large, it does hold a good bit of my hair. My hair is probably average, neither fine or thick, so I don't know how it would work for someone with those hair types. Read more

I bought these because I wear my hair up at work and was tired of the same old ponytail everyday. These are very cute and come in several sizes and shapes. I love the bronze vintage look. I have never been able to find barrettes that stayed in my hair. I have fine , thin hair and these barrettes are great! Very good look. Clasp is metal the top is plastic. They are lightweight which helps them stay in and not slide out of my hair! Love them!! Read more

The pictures of these don't do it justice. Sometimes the "antique" look just looks like garbage but these are quite pretty and on my blonde hair they show us enough for people to notice (and compliment). There are some in the package for smaller bundles of hair but on first try of one of those it broke. These are okay, they have varying sizes, some are large enough for a ponytail, most are large enough to put up your sides or be part of your hairstyle.They are a little flat, they don’t have a curve to hold your hair properly, they’re definitely a little cheap.They’re very cute, tho and they make a nice impression.There are also lots of them. I found it was a little pricey for these but couldn’t find any anywhere else period that were similar. Cute pins, work for thick hair like mine to pull back a portion of the front of my hair for work. Haven’t pulled out any of my hair so that’s good. Stay put for most of my 8 hour shift but I’m constant moving and running around so not many hairstyles stay put for me. Would recommend. Read more

These arrived ahead of schedule, however, I was a little disappointed in the quality. The detail is exquisite but they are made from a very lightweight metal and may bend easily. I have yet to use them as I am waiting for the cooler weather to put them to the test. The quantity for the price is a great deal as it is very difficult to find barrettes these days. Read more
