I agree with others that have said its "too gritty", it should have been ground down more. This was inexpensive, but you get what you pay for is what they say... As far as the mess, well, its charcoal. What I've done is emptied the bag into a jar and I dip a wet toothbrush in the jar to collect the charcoal on the brush, its a no mess resolution for your storage of it, however it will be messy as you spit it out in the sink...as expected. I haven't used it as a mask for fear it will scratch my face up, I could probably fix that with a stone grinder but there are better products out there that I don't have to go through the trouble and clean up with. I also wouldn't ingest it or clean fruit with it. Another issue for me is that the entire labeling on the bag is written in another language so you cant verify anything from the label with what they claim. End story, I will use this for teeth whiting but I wouldn't use it for anything else and wont purchase it again. Read more

I got this to whiten my teeth and I'm not impressed. I brushed my teeth with toothpaste BEFORE using it because I wanted to see if it really made a difference in the first brush as I've read. It doesn't. My teeth were the same exact tone as before using the charcoal. Maybe it would be better with more uses?PROS:- The bag is not tiny as some say, it's the size of my palm and unless you use spoonfuls of the stuff it should last for a while.- No smell and no taste.- It rinses very easily (maybe I didn't use the right amount? Just a tiny bit on my toothbrush).CONS- No instructions in english.- The powder is messy and the packaging doesn't help. Great for flossing with a water pick. It does wonders on oral health. The powder form dissolves complete and does a great job at removing harmful bacteria and residual food particulates. In addition, I add a quarter teaspoon to a 4 oz jar of baking soda and Himalayan and Sea salt, plus a eight teaspoon of vitamin C powder as tooth paste. I give it 4 stars , because all the instructions on the package are in an Asian language ( possibly Thai ). Soooooo, you need someone to be able to read it and translate it for you. I felt discomfort in line with ingesting heavy metals when I took this.Also a bag filled to the top is the worst possible packaging for messy charcoal powder. Guaranteed to spill. But the main issue is the reaction I had which makes me think the product was not treated properly.Heavy metals like chrome, aluminum, lead, excess copper, nikkel, strontium and others are the major forgotten factor in aging, leaky gut, and disease. I do not know about whitening capabilities because I drink it mixed with water.Internally it does the job. It cleans you inside.I used other charcoal powder for teeth whitening and it worked fine. No doubt this one would do the same. Read more

I add charcoal powder to my sourdough and I love it! It makes it a bit gritty so it is best enjoyed after it's dried out a bit but charcoal has many detox properties and I will definitely be buying more when I run out. Read more
