A short while back I decided to switch shampoo brands since I noticed that American Crew changed the formulation of their products that I normally use (could tell by comparing a new batch to an old one) which reduced their effectiveness and also started to cause scalp problems.Having seen Woody’s at the professional supply stores when shopping with my ex who is a hairstylist, I decided to give it a try.First, I find I like the cedar like scent used more than what ever the scent is that AC has switched to.Next, I find that this shampoo does a very good job of cleaning my hair and scalp and does not require that I use a lot of the product (maybe a quarter size blob). It also rinses out nicely compared to AC and other brands I have tried.Shortly after making the switch, the scalp problem I had cleared up and has not returned.If you have scalp issues with most shampoos and want to see if Woody’s will help, I suggest trying a small bottle first rather than the larger one in case you still have problems with it.Overall, Woody’s is now going to be my regular shampoo .... at least until their reformulate it like most brands do at some point in time (especially if the company is bought by a bigger one). Let me beginning by saying that I wish we could do a packaging rating and the product rating. The product itself is amazing. The smell is citrus like and easy to rinse off. It does leave my hair tangled which is weird it has never happened to me before until I tried this shampoo. It is pricey for sure but to me it's worth the price since a little bit goes far. It smells great. Now as I mention about the packaging well it came wrapped plastic wrap. The cap was broken and some shampoo spilled out which is unfortunate. Item came without any shrink wrap/sealant, unlike it's conditioner counterpart that I purchased. This raised a red flag, as the only sealant was a thin strip of adhesive tape of some kind crossing the top of the cap.Opening the cap and smelling resulted in a very muted cedar smell.The consistency is that of water. Upon opening and attempting to pour some into my hands, it flowed freely, which was baffling. Reviews claimed that this had a thicker consistency, like most shampoo. The directions on the bottle itself say to apply a quarter sized amount and lather.Either this is some serious quality control issue or this is a scam product. I won't be buying again. Read more

The first thing that I read on previous reviews is that the bottle top was loose, and the product had spilled. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and bought it thinking that they would have surely addressed this issue. They haven’t! It’s a large bottle that becomes very slippery when the outside has a layer of shampoo on it. The next thing people have tried to describe is the scent. I couldn’t begin to identify. It’s definitely unique. Strangely, as I was using it, I caught a scent that immediately reminded me of the Bubble Gum flavor. It was brief, but I still smell while it’s being used. It’s not what it smells like in the bottle, but don’t expect a citrus or tea tree scent. It’s not even close to either, in my opinion. It’s just a basic shampoo. If you’ve been using something from the Paul Mitchell line and expect this to be similar, you’ll be highly disappointed. I probably won’t buy it again. Read more

In general, I'm really not a picky dude. Until recently, I've used Suave shampoo for most of my life. I just expect the description to be somewhat accurate to the product. The description says this shampoo, "features a fresh, minty grapefruit aroma that will awaken and stimulate every good-looking man’s senses". In reality, it smells like the cheap hand-soap you get at a McDonald's or gas station. Nothing minty or grapefruity about it. I returned it and will be looking at other products so I can't speak to how well it works, thus the two stars instead of one. But seriously, the smell is so bad. Unless you enjoy smelling like a McDonald's restroom, you should probably look elsewhere for a good shampoo. Read more

I have used Woody's for several years now and really like the product. I usually buy the 32 oz. bottle however will no longer over the bottle design. The older bottle was so much easier to use and fit very well in the shower niche. Is the new design supposed to replicate a bottle of booze with a pourer spout? Kind of lame. Bring back the old design. I miss having the 32 oz. bottle. Will find another brand. Read more

Overall satisfied with my purchase. It's quite a large bottle of shampoo for a great price. I purchased mine on sale but I would most likely be less satisfied with the purchase had it been regular price. It's a decent shampoo. Doesn't leave my hair too greasy or dry however it doesn't leave it too soft either. It's totally fine. I've certainly used much better and I've also used much worse. Would recommend. Read more

Love Woody's shampoo! I shave my head so I wanted a shampoo that would keep my scalp in good shape and the reviews on it were great so I gave it a whirl and now here I am a regular user. Doesn't dry out my scalp or beard and leaves it feeling squeaky clean. I would say I think the scent is more citrus than cedar but that's just my opinion. For the price point definitely worth a try. 4 star on packaging cause a pump would be nice but still manageable. Read more

Yet again one more fantastic product from Woodys. The shampoo works so well and you only need a pea size of product. The conditioner is the same just a pea size. The feeling you get once the conditioner is on your hair is so nice and lasts after you wash the product out. Will be buying more. Read more

I normally use American Crew 3 in1 and it leaves my hair much more conditioned. Does not smell like their aftershave at all (as I was hoping). Washes all product out of your hair but you will need the conditioner. Read more
