Okay so the scent of this is amazing. I understand it is SPF50 so it’s a bit harder to rub in than something lesser. However, I did EXTENSIVE research about what sunscreen was best for pregnant women - and all were baby sunscreens, mineral based as this one is. And I know going to Florida at this time of the year I would need the SPF50 (I usually only wear SPF30) so I planned ahead,I’m not a dummy when it comes to the sun - especially while being pregnant. Let me tell you. It does not work as directed. We were at the beach for a total of 4 hours, I applied it TWICE (as directed - every two hours if not going in water, which I did not). And I am burnt to a crisp! I would never use this on my child, I can’t even fathom the pain a baby/toddler/child would be in after using this. My hand is SWOLLEN. I’ve never even burnt my hands before from going to the beach, but after 24 hours I cannot wear my wedding rings and my hand is swollen to 2x the size it normally is. And my face is also slightly swollen, and my neck, chest, arms and legs are burnt and hurt horribly. Read more

If you're bothered by the white cast of physical sunblock, then don't bother reading on, because you won't like this sunscreen. If you're more concerned about skin- and reef-safe sunblock, though, this might be your new favorite. My skin is extremely sensitive, fair, and sunburn-prone, and I've tried lots of different types of sunscreen. This is one of the most effective, but it is not my top choice. (Also, I'm an adult. Yes, "baby" sunscreen works on us, too! :P )PROS:* Top rated for *years* by the EWG (Environmental Working Group) as safe - both for you (and your kiddos) and for the environment.* Has never caused a rash, breakout, or reaction for my sensitive skin to date - including on my face.* Smells amazing! It has a light, citrus-y scent.* Prevents sunburn when applied correctly. You need to rub it in and spread it around, and you need to reapply it according to directions. Spent time in the water? Towel off and put more of this on. Sat out in the sun for a couple of hours? Time to reapply. Applying sunscreen is no fun - I'm with you on that - but it is a necessary evil. I keep baby wipes in my beach bag to wipe my hands off after sunscreen application.* Less likely to get used up by sun-seekers. ;) People who are bothered by the white cast and those seeking a deep tan will definitely avoid borrowing your sunblock!CONS:* It's white. Like, really, really white. That's part of the physical sun blocking barrier, y'all. If you rub it in *really* well, it will become more transparent, but it still has a white cast. I'm super fair, and I look ghostly for a while after applying this. But then, my goal is to avoid skin cancer, not to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition.* The white is also visible on swimsuits, towels, and pretty much everything else. I've found that it usually comes out by rubbing the fabric with a towel and later washing as usual, but yeah, it's going to get on fabric and at least temporarily show as white.* It's kind of greasy and leaves a layer on top of the skin, unlike chemical sunscreens, which are lighter and seem to absorb more quickly and fully (but are also possibly toxic for you, for the fish, and for the coral reefs - just sayin').* Because of the above cons, I really only use this by the pool or on beach vacations. Sunscreen can change the appearance of fabrics and some costume jewelry, so if you get it on good clothes or non-precious-metals, it's a good idea to wipe it off quickly. I consider this more of a "sport" sunscreen, so I'm generally not wearing my Sunday Best with it.This isn't my absolute favorite reef-safe sunblock, but it is a very, very good one, and it's more affordable than my first choice (Beautycounter), so I buy a couple of tubes before vacation and I know I've got good sun protection - and won't be sad if I decide to leave a 1/4 tube behind in order to get through airport security. For reference, I used nearly all of one of these tubes on a 5-day beach vacation, and this tube size definitely fits inside the TSA's required quart-sized plastic bag for carry on! Finally I found my favorite sunscreen for my whole family. I had been usually Aveeno baby sunscreen but never liked it because it went on white and dry, and hard to spread on skin. So I needed an alternative that is moisturizing to my skin and with a safe health rating. I was concerned because some people said thinkbaby goes on white. However the whiteness completely goes away so easily with a few rubs. It is so easy to spread. So your baby's skin won't be white at all. It smells so good too. I am very pleased. Read more

I have been using this product for 2 years. It’s got safe ingredients and I like it on my own skin. It’s not greasy and stays on well even in water. I like the product and appreciate the safe ingredient ratings! My daughter started to get dry patches when we used it this year. I think it’s a personal sensitivity versus the product itself as I really like the Think products. I had to switch to the Badger Zinc based product that was more moisturizing.Badger sport is a little more greasy feeling in comparison. It’s comparable. Read more

Pros: Score of 1! on EWG, best most organic sunscreen I've found, physical sun block (zinc), non-greasy, no smell, and it resists sweat extremely wellCons: Rubbed in well everywhere but my face (oily skin), must be rubbed in well otherwise a white tint (paled out) remains.http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/product/437612/thinksport_ThinkBaby_Sunscreen_Benefiting_Livestrong,_SPF_50%2B_(2012_formulation)/Love this stuff! It's ridiculous that baby sunscreen is by far the best sunscreen FOR EVERYONE. When you put this on, it will not rub in that quickly on your face, at least for me, I have semi-oily skin on my face so that could be why. It rubbed it nicely on my arms and neck. I think putting it on rubbing it in as well as you can and waiting 15 minutes is mandatory if you don't want to look like a failed ghost (pales you out, but not that bad). The Zinc in this makes me feel confident that I'm being protected. Read more

I love this sunblock for my son who is 4. We have used it multiple times over the years and as long as it is applied properly and as often as it needs to be he is fine in the sun. It is a bit hard to rub in and usually leaves the white chalky layer on him but I don't mind because sun protection is more important. I do not notice a scent with this and usually I am very aware of scented anything around me. Read more

I have been doing a lot of research into sun screens and wanted to get a mineral sunscreen for my kids (5 & 7 years) as I’m not happy with the potential side effects of chemical sunscreens. A friend recommended this product and I’m really happy with it. 20% zinc is one of the highest level of mineral sunscreen (& apparently is safer than Titanium oxide). Takes a bit longer to rub in than previous chemical sunscreen but that’s a small payoff for using a more natural product. Works excellently as a sunscreen, my kids have been outside a lot in the current heatwave and no burning, no tan lines so it’s definitely doing its job!!! I will be sticking with this brand for the whole family from now on. Read more

I was worried it’s not going to be enough when I saw the size of the tube, but trust me - a little goes a looong way! It’s so powerful in reflecting the sunlight that you might end up with no tan if you do it every day and too much. Two of us used less than 50ml for 10 days in Greece in August and we applied multiple times a day. Then I used a tiny bit more on my face in the swiss alps. I think there’s just as much left in the tube for next year. We’ve had no reactions or negative side effects even though one of us has ultra-sensitive and pale skin. Will def buy again! Read more
