I've been chewing the fruit flavor for a probably a couple of years now, and while the flavor didn't last all that long, I was chewing it mainly for the dental benefits and because I didn't want things like aspartame in my gum. I'll take something that loses flavor and then tastes like nothing over something gross any day. But this last pack I bought, a 2 pack of fruit, starts out tasting a little bit like the fruit flavor I like, and then turns into this minty, wintergreen like flavor that I HATE and can not get out of my mouth. Because of course the flavor I don't want lasts now. Did they run out of the fruit base and think no one would notice if they put a faint flavor coat on one of the other flavors? My dentist suggested that I try to get some Xylitol gum, so I searched on line, and got these. They look like those little Chicklet gum they used to make. I wish I could say I loved them. The initial taste was quite good, but tasteless after about 30 seconds. Since my dentist suggested chewing gum for 30 minutes after each meal, I was kind of left chewing on gum with no flavor.I gave it 3 stars bc it is easy to take some with you if you are out for a meal and can't brush. The only real option for all-xylitol gum. It's a challenge to find all-xylitol-sweetened gum, but Spry is the real deal.The experience of chewing it: The pieces are small, tablet shaped, and are candied on the outside. The flavor is bright and fruity, like Juicy Fruit. And, like Juicy Fruit, the flavor doesn't last long at all. It chews well for the first few minutes, then gets hard and flavorless.Since I've been chewing it (along with a good dental care routine), my dental appointments have gone great. We love this gum! It is great to know that this is a gum that is good for your teeth. Others, even though they may have no sugar in them are not good for you. Sugar free ones replace the sugar with something worse, usually, like aspartame. But if you opt for the sugar ones they wreak havoc on your teeth! What a disappointment! Flavor lasts literally about 1-2 minutes. Then, you find yourself chewing a tasteless piece of gum. Each piece is also tiny. You have to use 2 pieces just to have a reasonable piece at a comparable size you'd find in many competing products. I don't understand where all the positive reviews are coming from. I love this stuff. The flavor is perfect and I don't feel horribly guilty chewing it! I love Spry above all xylitol chewing gums. The best out there for sure! There is not a bad flavor in the bunch and it actually lasts longer than other xylitol gums. The consistency is perfect as is the size.
