I only gave this lock one star because there is no way to leave a comment or review unless you put at least one star. I would not give it any stars if I had a choice. The person I need to keep out of the fridge is my husband who has dementia. The lock did not come with installation instructions. So, I stuck it to the door of my side by side freezer/refrigerator with the locking end on the right (fridge side). When the door is opened, the corner pushes on the cable, releasing the lock. So, I wanted to reverse it, but then it wasn't sticky enough. One down. Luckily, I had ordered two. I put the second one on the other way, with the locking end on the freezer to the right. This morning my husband opened the fridge with very little effort and sent the locking end flying. The back part is still stuck to the door, but the key entry and front is in 2 parts and the cable is unlocked. So, two down. This was a waste of time, effort & money. Read more

This product would be great but my toddler is able to open it without the key, he just pulls it in a downward motion and boom, it’s open...Hopefully this one is defective, I have ordered a replacement and hope that this one doesn’t have the same issue. Read more

I bought this lock to keep my two year old son out of the fridge...he likes to open the door and smash eggs or tomatoes whenever no one is watching. Within 7 hours of being installed he had busted the lock. I assumed that I had received a defective lock so I returned it and got another one. That lock broke within the first 12 hours as well. These are great. I have a 9yr old son who has an genetic eating disorder where he always thinks he is hungry and will go in the cabinets, fridge and pantry to eat whatever he can get his hands on. This definitely helps. Everything in cabinets moved to pantry and locks installed. They've been up for a week now and he hasn't even trued opening them. We even have a YI camera which you can buy on Amazon as well. Because of heath issues and fear of over eating all the time we had to get these. I am so glad we did. Disclaimer: My son does have serving size meals and snacks. He is not starving and the locks are a highly recommend item per advice of his doctors.They seem to be working and to him being ASD the locks are a very good deterrent to help in this matter.Just follow the instructions. Works best on clean flat surface. On one I had to screw down on a door trim because it was curved. Push hard and hold for a good amount of time. The longer the better. Adhesion seems to be stronger the longer it sits per day too. I tried prying one off to see if it would. Short of using a knife to cut behind it and peeling the sticky part, there's no budging it. He hasn't even tried using any other tool to jimmy the lock open. Having a camera helps too. Any time he goes in the kitchen I get a notification on my phone app. Read more
