This is the real deal - correct Camelia type from Japan and a staple for most Japanese households. Yhe price here is excellent and saves me time, gas, etc. This brand is the only one we use and this precious dry oil doubles as a moisturizer, primer, flyaway controller, cuticle oil, nail conditioner, many more uses. Just 4 drops massaged on face, followed by a spritz of mineral water mixed with a bit of aloe vera juice and a quick dry-off touch with rice paper is a perfect makeup primer. I use more ubder each eye at night and bit more for eyelashes and brows with camphor oil for thickness and growth..I first learned anout it decades ago from my Japonese friend who dragged many bottles back from her visits home between college terms. A bottle is generously sized and lasts almost a year with frequent use if just for face alone. Please note that most brands (even $$$$) sell the wrong genome of camelia grown in China, taking advantage of buyers' ignorance. This brand is gold standard, so don't fall prey to higher prices as a sign of quality. I am often mistaken for someone a decade or more younger. Although gentics and lifestyle contribute, this inexpensive workhorse for over two decades deserves credit. I've walked off long flights looking as fresh as a daisy (extra oul ro fight dry air, doubled to 10 drops before heading outside in blustery winter cold, always carry a .5oz reusable drop dispenser in my purse and even use as a base for facial exfoliation or a base for face shaving with the longer Japanese blades (best on-going exfoliation around). Thankfully, Amazon's prices are just a couple of dollars off from my local Japanese store so no need to wait. I vary Amazon vendors, but most ship from Japan. It is my favorite stocking stuffer and beauty secret (except for telling anyone willing to listen, lol). A drop of rose oil or another fave essential oil kicks it up a notch - I've recommended it as a carrier oil for skin conditions or own-mixed fragrance masterpieces (I love my bergamot/verveter/patchouli 'winter mix'. So, buy it, you will not be disappointed! Read more

This is good for girls who have long, naturally dark black/brown hair. It is popular in Japan and I can see why. The tsubaki flower is Japanese and it has been made into an oil. Since using this, my hair appears smoother and there are less fly aways. I would think this is most useful for girls who have thick, dark hair. I don't know how it will work for girls with fine hair because it can get oily and heavy. All you need is a tiny bit because it spreads very well.Additionally, I use a Japanese wooden comb that works well with the tsubaki oil in combing it through my hair evenly. I love it and recommend this. Read more

It's a bit heavy on my hair, but my mom, who has bleached hair, swears by it. I've used it on my skin at night and I'm happy with results. The skin appears softer and brighter in the morning, and at times my dark spots or dark circles seem less noticeable - I haven't noticed this with any other oils. It's way to thick to use it as a day-time moisturizer though.I've used argan oil (josie maran), olive, grape seed, sunflower, apricot, dior, nuxe, darphin, l'occitane, coconut and avocado oils. This one was most moisturizing at night and didn't cause any breakouts, but it's on the thick and heavy side. My husband has mild rosacea and it's the one he reaches for most often. Read more

This is the real deal. Beware of some 'blended' Camellia oil out there, that is represented as 100% Camellia oil. This has a lovely texture; not watery, but nicely thin - so it does not feel heavy or sticky. For hair and skin, it is absorbed quickly. I could not detect any scent, whatsoever. And I am very sensitive to sent. Use sparingly - a little goes along way. The bottle opening, has a tightly fitted plastic 'stopper'. It allows you to 'shake' out, a drop or two at a time. I believe some bottles of olive oil or balsamic vinegar, have this same little plastic stopper. The product box has a tamper proof seal. Inside box is an extensive folded paper 'brochure', that details uses, etc. I would definitely purchase again, from this seller. Read more

It absorbs quickly, moisturizes wonderfully, and makes the skin feel amazing immediately after use (as well as later on). The price is a really great value as well, and it does come with both English and Japanese directions. It can be used on the face, hands, hair, etc. If you use a small amount it's relatively non-greasy even on (the ends) of my fine, silky hair. I'm guessing that this is a refined oil, so a cold pressed one may be even more healthful (although will perhaps have a scent). The oil is basically unscented and Very neutral. Read more

I keep this in the frig as I use it infrequently to condition my colored hair. This is a nice item, keeps well, has very little smellAnd even though some of the oil separated when cold, it warms up in my hand and I massage it into the ends and comb throughWith a smooth edged large tooth wood comb. It absorbed nicely and I was it out the next day. Far superior to the popularCoconut oil which is a hydraphobe and destroys my hair. Easier to use container than my rose hip oil and less smell than Jojoba. Read more

This is my new winter moisturizer. After showering and getting to work my bald head and face would look dry from the hard water. So right after showering, I would use just 1 drop for my bald head and 1 for my face before leaving home. My skin looks healthy and brown by the time I get to work. I also put a little extra on my eyebrows and mustache. ;-) Read more

I LOVE this oil and my hair does too! It's the authentic Oshima Camellia oil. Affordably priced. Use it sparingly and with a good quality comb or brush...preferably wooden. You don't need much, as the comb or brush will spread the oil throughout scalp and hair. Camellia oil is good for skin application. It's very lightweight. My hair is softer and in better condition, and my scalp feels healthier. I have acne prone skin and this oil moisturized my skin, without causing breakouts or feeling greasy. I feel like it has helped the condition of my skin, as well. Much softer. Will buy from this seller again, thank you! Read more
