I have had dermatitis on my scalp since I was a baby. The itching and the flaking was intense. I spend hundreds of dollars at the dermatologist on medications to control it. I went bald in the front of my hairline from all the flaking. I used this stuff and it was a massive improvement from the very first use. Hardly any itching or flaking. The only negative is that the shampoo left my hair dry but I mixed it with some macadamia oil and it was much better. I love this stuff and recommend it to anyone with this scalp condition. okay so this might be a little long but I want to give a good, thorough review.I thought this would stink since it has a lot of strong chemicals I guess you would call it, but it smells like baby powder/oil and my boyfriend thought so too! I was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis by my dermatologist (requires a medical diagnosis) and so far, this seems to be working GREEATTTTTTT. I hated how my scalp was CONSTANTLY itching and very very oily, and I would pull out like small clumps of this really oily, thick dandruff like stuff when I scratched my head (similar to dandruff but not flaky)i’ve only used it twice and I can already tell a difference. no more itching & not as much of those small clumps. I could tell it was breaking it down the first time I used it. much improvement only after 2 washes! make sure to follow the directions for the best results - 2 cycles per shower. it said to use it twice a week but I only wash my hair twice a week so I just used it both times now i’m going down to 1 of my 2 wash days. I wasn’t sure if I should still use my regular shampoo so I DIDN’T, so I could see results and by doing that I feel it’s worked faster/better although when washing it all out at the end it makes the top of your scalp have that chlorine feel to your hair but i’d rather live with that then the itching and thick/oily clumps and it’s only when washing it out my hair doesn’t feel like that afterwards. l definitely recommend to anyone with seborrheic dermatitis as well! Skin problems are very idiosyncratic, so what works for one person might not work for another. That said, this is off to a great start for me. I have always had a dry, itchy scalp, but lately the itching had become intolerable. This shampoo made a big difference, beginning with the first application. I will also be using some topical medications to reign things in, but I am hopeful of getting to a steady state where this is all I need for long periods of time. The smell is mild when you use it, and unnoticeable after toweling off. It lathers nicely. Do keep it on your scalp for several minutes. Note that during that time it will be pretty good at finding its way from your scalp along your wet face to your eyes, and that is not pleasant. Read more

I like the shampoo very much, but this purchase arrived with a damaged lid that could not be re-closed. I could not return the shampoo because it could not be closed and would leak. I did return the damaged lid. Amazon issued me a immediate refund. FYI: I just received a junk mail telling me that I did not return the product and would be charged for the product. Read more

I had started accutane (isotretinoin) about a month ago when my hair went from super oily, to super dry as a result of the drugs side effects. The first week my scalp was so itchy and I had dry flakes in my hair. I came across this product when searching for a treatment and decided to try it. Boy, am I glad I did. I don't even feel itchiness anymore and I've been using this for 3 weeks now. I use a pretty big dot and spread it gently over my hair and scalp (don't rub the scalp much in order to prevent irritation.) I let it sit for a couple minutes while I wash my body/shave, etc, and then wash it out. I follow with the DHS conditioning rinse. I don't mind the smell of this either. It smells faintly of orange... but lack of smell has something to do with why it works, so I'm okay with it. Read more

Early November, as the season was changing, my head was becoming itchy frequently, then I asked my sister what zinc shampoo is recommend and it turned out that our dermatologist recommend DHS brand. I have been using this shampoo, along with the DHS conditioner for 3 weeks now. The first two weeks, I used it 2 times each week. This week, one time. I aim to reduce usage to only for when my head itches often again. It does make my hair soft afterwards. Good product. Read more

This is the only product which helps control my seborrheic dermatitis. Four stars only as it doesn't really do much for body and volume. The odor is okay but not great. But it does help with the itching and flaking. Read more
