Using a kit like this is a delicate and sometimes time consuming process. Creating a realistic wound and blood pattern, takes practice and sometimes a number of attempts to get it to look right. So practice ….I have several of these kits and some are better than others. One thing this kit is lacking is an oil or substance included that will help you form the wound better before the tax dries. It dries pretty quickly and so I recommend using a vegetable oil of some sort. Very light spritzing … to give you a little time to work the wax into position before it dries. I use Coconut Oil personally and it works well. There are tons of online videos that you can watch and walk thru creating realistic wounds.One minor annoyance is that the coagulated blood and the fake liquid blood have the same consistency. I assume the fake liquid blood was supposed to be runny like flowing blood, but it is gelled. I assume it was either slightly opened allows some air to cause the liquid to turn to gel or it was sitting too long on the shelf before it got to me. Either way, it only provides a coagulated look.The metal spatula is okay. One end is straight and the other has a curved edge. They work as expected but I prefer a tool that has a bit more of an edge on it to help you cut into the wax more easily.I tend not to use stippling sponges and have my own process for creating the same look. But for those who are starting off … these will help make your wound blend in.I was unable to locate any warranty either in the product information or item description.I appreciate you taking the time to read this. I received this product in exchange for an honest review. All in all, I was still able to make a very realistic cut on my hand with the supplied kit. So it can do the job very well. But it could be better if all the components were fresh. There are better kits out there for the same price point. Do your research. But not a bad kit … just not a great one. This CCbeauty Halloween SFX Makeup Kit Scar Wax Set is a good kit for making realistic looking scars and wounds.You get a pot of scar wax, a stainless steel tool for modeling the wax, a tube of fake blood, a small pot of fake, coagulated, blood and two sponges for application of the blood. There are no instructions so if you have never used scar wax before, watch some YouTube videos first.We noticed this scar wax is a bit softer than others we have used but it worked fine. This is a great kit to create scars, cuts and any other SFX style makeup you want to make. It's perfect for halloween and spooky/horror type looks or to create realistic injuries. The wax is soft and easy to manipulate and it also comes with a. stipple for splatter, road rash etc. The blood is coagulated which is great for almost every look. I always tend to use the coagulated because it looks really good. The other blood included is gelled so it's thicker than a runny blood so I don't really see the difference. It’s a real cool kit. Comes with everything needed, but found some other tools help. Watching google videos helps a lot. There’s techniques to softening the wax and applying. We tried and never really made anything that resembled realistic wounds. But it was lots of fun. Congealed blood vs liquid blood, or mix the 2 together. We actually resolved to using another blood product. Make sure to create over a disposable or easily cleaned surface. My kids made a mess. Overall: good starter kit to figure out how to make fake wounds. Read more

Got this for Halloween. Made some scary scared faces! The blood is realistic looking! You can build up the scar wax and make bigger noses or use it for lumps or warts. It's fun to play around with. It does take some practice to achieve the effect you want. It would be great for drama clubs. We used soap and warm water to remove after wiping the faces with facial wipes. It does leave a little staining behind. Scrubbing a little harder got that off. Read more

My daughter takes stagecraft classes. Last time they had lessons on creating wounds, she couldnt participate because she was allergic to the makeup so I got her this set. She's happy with it. She likes the sponges and is able to create some wounds. It takes practice obviously. She especially likes the 'blood' though she thought one of them was going to be runnier.Overall, a decent beginner's set. Read more

Excellent. The scar wax is a lovely quality, and I appreciate that there are two different textures of stippling sponges. My one complaint is the lack of cosmetic latex, such as liquid latex or prose-aid, as scar wax can be difficult to use without it. You should get your some latex to go with this kit.
