I researched a few journals before I chose this one, including looking at some in babies r us. My husband and I are having our first child and while our parents have pictures and things like that, I wanted to make this period memorable for myself and our baby when he or she grows up. This journal is much more than I expected and seems way more comprehensive than the others. It's divided up first by prepregnancy, allowing you to put things in about yourselves and your families and your family tree. It then goes into the trimesters. Right now I'm on our first (clearly) but peaking ahead to the 2nd and 3rd make me excited! The trimester chapters have spots for your ultrasounds from your parents, your weekly baby bump pictures and circumference and your doctor's appointments, etc. It also includes info on how to have a healthy pregnancy, what to consider putting on your registry, and signs of labor. There's so much information that can go in this journal and Im so excited to fill it out as I progress with my pregnancy! Read more

I ordered 6 different ones, including this one and:Sophie la girafeBump to Birthday, Pregnancy & First Year Baby JournalThe Belly Book: A Nine-Month Journal for You and Your Growing BellyFrom Pea to Pumpkin: A Pregnancy JournalMy Pregnancy Journal (by Lluch, Alex A.)I ended up keeping Studio Oh! Guided Pregnancy Journal, Bump for Joy and Sophie la girafe. As with everything, it all depends on what you are looking for.To me, those two work the best because there's space to write and paste pictures about us, the parents, our families, and our relationship before the baby (I think once the baby grows up he's going to love reading that!) and are very well structured but not repetitive. Some of the journals have one page per week of pregnancy with all the same questions (e.g. symptoms), and that is so boring! I also like to have some, but not too much, empty space to write. One thing Studio Oh! Guided Pregnancy Journal, Bump for Joy has (while Sophie la girafe doesn't) is the parents family trees, which I like!Overall, highly recommended! Read more

I purchased this book as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I wanted to be able to capture all that I was feeling throughout my pregnancy. This book could not be more perfect! It provides prompts relevant to both mom and dad from prepregnancy to delivery, family history/tree, calendars, what to expect, some advice, and it even has space for a few pics and memorabilia. My husband and I would definately buy this again for a friend's first pregnancy. It helps to relieve any jitters, and it's very gender neutral. Love!!! Read more

I bought this journal based on the high reviews & the description of what the journal was. The journal is beautiful, and the pages are exceptional quality (my favorite ink pen didn't bleed through!). However, the book itself arrived damaged on the edges & back, which makes me question the sturdiness of the outside cover. (See pictures). I know I could have returned it & waited for a new one, but I start my second trimester tomorrow and I didn't want to wait any longer to start on my journal. There are a lot of pages to fill out, and most of them are really cute. One thing I noticed is that this is targeted towards first time moms. There are a lot of pages you won’t fill out if you’re a second time mom or later. It has a "conception" section for those who are planning on conceiving a baby (so they could start journaling through that process). There is a lot of redundant info -maybe because I filled out the entire first 44 pages in one sitting, but I seemed to write a lot of the same information a few times.Overall, I'm excited to use this to journal my pregnancy.*Edited to Add: Little one arrived 2 weeks ago, so I have mainly finished my journal. It became a bit of a hassle to try and fill out at times, especially because it asked a lot of the same questions. Overall, I did enjoy using this pregnancy journal, but it’s definitley meant for First Time Moms. I wish I would have done a little more research and found a book more targeted to seasoned mamas. The ONLY section that mentions anything about other pregnancies is in the very back portion of the book in the “Labor” section. It asks how labor and delivery was different for other pregnancies “if appplicable”. Other than that, everything else in the book is definitely targeted towards first time moms. You can fill out most of the information as a seasoned mom, but it feels silly when what your filling out in the book is very clearly targeted to a first time mom.BUUT, if you’re a first time mom, this book is great for you! You’ll love it! Read more

I've had other books for documenting pregnancy and they always seemed to do a good job of providing prompts that you could answer at that time. I find when working on this book that I am constantly having to skip prompts, and even pages, and hope to return to them when I eventually have the answer later in pregnancy. For example, in the early first trimester section, it prompts you to write about when you first found out the sex of the baby and first felt the baby kick. The book is still very cute and fun to complete but I just wish it had been formatted in a way that was a bit more user friendly. *EDIT- I ordered the matching baby book and it is just as cute as the Pregnancy book. I see they added the baby book so it's easier to find. I included some photos of the baby book because that helped me decide when ordering the Pregnancy book.*EDIT-I just found the matching baby book - Studio Oh! "Baby's First Years-Bundle of Joy" Guided Journal. I didn't see one when I first searched for one. I am planning on buying that too!!!I really like this book. I looked at others and they seemed kinda cheesy. This book has just the right amount of questions. I bought it when I was 10 weeks pregnant so trying to remember some things have been a challenge. Which proves having a pregnancy book is so worth it! Read more

For my first pregnancy I used 'Bump to Birthday' which I liked but wanted a different journal this time around. The quality of this journal is brilliant and the pictures and colours are lovely! I had wanted a journal which offers a double page spread for each week to write about how I was feeling and what I'd been upto, as well as space for a photo of my growing bump like my first journal. This one doesn't really offer that. This journal is split clearly into trimesters, with various checklists and questions in each. It doesn't have a big entry for each week, however there is a small section in each trimester where you can write a little bit about your week and also the measurement of your bump. There are still spaces for some photos, just not a weekly bump photo. The journal also has pockets for letters, scans etc. which is very useful. Examples of some questions from the sections are: 'advice for my future self', 'people who have been supportive throughout my pregnancy' and 'how I could include my partner even more'...all very American! The spellings are American too, and it's not a great book if you don't have a partner.I particularly like the first page (see picture), where I plan to just write one word in each week which summarises how I've been feeling.Overall, I liked my first journal for its structure and weekly entries with room for a weekly photo. I like this journal for its quality, pockets and design. Read more

Just started filling this journal been two days. I prefer to do it before bed so i can gather my thoughts from the whole day. This is very good for the newly mother to be. It explains what's going on in every trimester and also asks about how the mother is doing and all. The best part i think the pages for picture which really makes the journal alive. I wish the colour wasnt green(though its cute) cause i love using different coloured pen in my journal and green doesnt fit in quite right in my opinion. Otherwise it is really fun to use. Recommended!!! Read more

This is great was to document my first pregnancy and hopefully be able to use it to compare with my other pregnancies in the future. I am from the UK though and some references were American and how they do things/say things over there. Doesn't bother me though as we all go through the same.It has some pockets which I have found really useful for keeping hospital bits and scan photo's in. It is also beautifully designed and great quality. Read more
